So our backup point guard is valuable when our starter is injured? Gotta give it to Parker... he was gutsy playing that serious despite the injury... Team player.
No, I rather he didn't play.

It's not about that; it's about not showing your hand early and that's a classic Pop go-to, you know that.
What the Spurs have right now won't be the same hand they have come March. You don't want to show them in March.

Let's get this out of the way... Nobody, and I mean not even the '96 Bulls are beating this Dubs team when both Klay and Steph are hot at the same time. If you allow them to get their shots up when they're feeling it, the game is lost.

If Parker isn't penetrating their defense we have zero chance. We simply can't be efficient enough without his penetration.
He can penetrate but not force the issue each time, that's asking for trouble against the Dubs active hands. I can picture him driving recklessly to the lane, get stripped and looking to the refs to bail him out to no avail. More than anything, we need him playing smart.

Lol wut.
The best way to beat them is to make Steph work on defense.... Lowry did that and they nearly won.
Parker was unstoppable in the playoffs against GS, no matter who was on him. Shit, just go back to last season where Golden State looked like they do now... Parker before the injury murdered them in Oracle.
http://youtu.be/T_C0TKtoF0A
that's basically it. It's how we beat the thunder in 2014. If you make kevin durant work instead of coasting on defense, he won't have his legs fully on offense. Curry went the whole playoffs last year without playing defense. The first time he had to actually play defense was the finals and he was getting killed by delladova. Make him work so he doesn't have 100% energy on offense to shoot 10-12 three pointers

I agree with this, how the Spurs play in the regular season is likely not the same way they play in the playoffs.
The good sign is that the Spurs across the board from LMA to Boban are improving. Meanwhile the GSW are having players falling to injuries and rely too much on just a few players. Their bench in non-existent in the last game.

I absolutely agree with this observation. Spurs cannot allow the opponents key players to rest.
Curry and Thompson's shooting accuracy will drop with tired legs. I suspect that GSW will compensate for this by switching in defense and not chasing the cutters. GSW will likely dare the Spurs to beat them in a 3 point contest.

Curry averages 2.23 steals a game and had 3 clear swipes off Hill tonight who struggled to get passed him with any effectiveness in the paint. 3 of his 4 shots made were 3 pointers. TP doesn't have that 3 point shooting ability. Does that mean I don't want TP to be aggressive? Not at all, he can be aggressive but he can't force drives and shots like he's in his mid 20's against this matchup and I don't want him to test Curry too much. He has to play smart in that matchup.
First of all, are you seriously comparing Hill and TP, especially in terms of quickness?
Second, newsflash: no pesky guard has ever stopped TP. Length is required in order to bother Parker, either in the form of long forward or even better a tall rim protector. I'm not afraid of anybody stealing the ball off Parker (not saying it never happens, but that's definitely not how games are won or lost).

Glad someone has a healthy fear of this team other than me. Never seen anything like them..... They took our 2014 team basketball and took it to a new level.
that is not "fear" ... That is rationale respect for the defending champs that has been steamrolling teams.
Draymond Green sets moving screens all the time. It's hard enough to bother Curry, even harder when green is setting picks like an offensive lineman.
I understand it happens with every team now and again, but he gets away with it consistently.

People who don't fear the warriors seem to have forgotten how the Spurs won their last championship. Spurs destroyed the 2 time NBA champion on ball movement and 3 point shooting. Spurs brought the Heat into complete exhaustion trying to guard against their offense.
The Warriors are a superior 3 point shooting team as compared to the this year's Spurs. The Heat team that the Spurs lost in 2013, we lost because of a 3 point shot, but the Spurs dared their players (Bosh and LeBron) to take that 3. Spurs can't dare the Warriors to shoot.
So it is still a mystery as to how the Spurs will beat the Warriors. That's not something we will find out until playoff time. Pop will not show his cards. Spurs have a ton of plays that they bring out on occasion. The last game against the Celtics, they brought out a couple during crunch time. Spurs are going to bring out the entire arsenal come playoff time and hopefully they make enough easy buckets to win against the Warriors.
KG also did the same with the Celts
Duncan does too. Remember Game 6 vs. OKC in 2014? All good bigs know how to get away with it.
Warriors have been incredible. They are proving that championship was no fluke.
I think alot of their success also has to do with teams trying way too hard to beat them by deviating from what they do well in trying to out warrior the warriors. It's easy to get caught up in their style of play, fast, small, threes, etc.
The Spurs are the one team that doesn't let other teams change what they do. They have the mental fortitude to withstand the urge to get caught up in the warriors game. Of course it can still happen, but the Spurs are the team it happens to less than anyone else.
Duncan does too. Remember Game 6 vs. OKC in 2014? All good bigs know how to get away with it.
That's a game deciding play where refs will more than likely swallow the whistle. Draymond does it throughout the game using his hands to hold players trying to fight through picks.

You run them off the 3pt line and make them come into the paint where the big bodies are at. If they can make floaters all night over Duncan and LA, then they deserve to win. I just don't know why people are overlooking the type of defense we're playing. I don't care who the teams are on the list. Plus, if they're small on the offensive end(small ball), that means they're not too big on the defensive end. I'll take that matchup all day! They're team is like our old team, they have to have great shooting nights every night or it's over if they're off.

Just like they should have swallowed it when Chris Paul jumped into Duncan in game 7 last year...
Though point taken on Draymond. Curry doesn't need to get very open to get his shots off, and that grabbing helps immensely.

By far the most pedestrian Curry has looked this season was against Boston the other night when Avery Bradley hounded him all night long. He still scored 38 in a 2OT victory but he really had to work for it and shot only 9/27. Bradley really got up into him and got physical with him, which made him uncomfortable and affected his game. That's what it's going to take for 4 qtrs. Otherwise these crazy offensive explosions the Warriors go on 2 or 3 times a game are going to be too much to overcome on the road. You have to take Curry out of his comfort zone and force him to take really difficult contested shots. It's easier said than done obviously because he's such a great passer, but it can be done with the personnel that we have. Will take a total team effort for 48 minutes though cause that team is relentless and battle-tested with a ton of shooters. They keep coming at you.

A lot of times it comes down to matchups. I don't agree but a lot of posters said dallas would've beaten us in '07 if they didn't lose to the warriors who lost to the jazz who we destroyed on the way to the championship so you never know. We do have all the pieces to give them fits. They seem to take and make a lot of low % shots that works less and less in the playoffs.

It ultimately will boil down to a lucky bounce. The problem though is that the 3 point shot can always keep at team in contention. You can have a 10 point lead and it can be gone in about a minute worth of defensive lapses.
