We had the opportunity to be in the driver's seat but let Landry Jones make an easy throw to Antonio Brown. Don't feel too confident about getting in this year but we're taking the division in 2016 tbh

IMO, and I'd be fine with that..

Raiders have a pretty good chance if they don't choke away games they should win. I see Pittsburgh losing 4 more while the Raiders may only drop another 2, and we all know the Jets are playoff pretenders.

Young/inexperienced teams will choke away games they should win, though. Already did in 3 of our 4 losses... Murray with 2 second half turnovers vs bears, missing 2 field goals vs Denver, and b2b fumbles in the 2nd half vs Pittsburgh

On paper they probably should go 5-3 from here, but they probably drop one to the chiefs or some shit. Losing to Pitt was huge for tiebreaker purposes

A few thoughts...

-It's a shame the AFC South exists...Colts are fortunate to possibly have Luck for all 3 remaining divisional games, most likely finish 8-8 and wrap up 4th seed.
-It's paramount that Buffalo beats the Chiefs and Texans--it'll put the nail in their respective coffins, give us two more conference wins, and keep us in the driver's seat for a WC spot. I feel pretty confident about beating the Jets in Buffalo in the finale, so that would leave 1 win left to get against the likes of Washington, Philly, or Dallas.
-The Jets have a pretty favorable schedule, only leaving the state of NY twice in their final 7 games. Oakland's sets up nicely as well.
-I have no idea what to make of Pittsburgh...hopefully Ben's injury is more serious than they think.

-GB will go no worse than 12-4, which will be good enough for a bye imo.
-Giants-Eagles will come down to Week 17 matchup
-Vikings will not make the playoffs
-Falcons schedule is cake, but they're a stupid football team
-Rams would be a shoe-in for the wildcard if they had even mediocre QB play.

If the Broncos can maintain the defense they have this season next year, we will win it again. We have the second worst quarterback in the league and we're still 7-1 with a three game lead in everyone in the west.

Shit, if Manning was even half as competent as he was two years ago, we would easily be 3-0....but as it stands now, he likes to gift opposing teams at least 10 points a game.

Denver has already peaked and they have no real upside anymore. Getting Clady back is the only positive I can think of going forward. Osweiler sucks and won't be an upgrade to Enrique Manning.

Defense will be fine but the league has caught onto them as the dirtiest unit in recent memory.

Sorry pal, hope and optimism for a team that will inevitably blow up like the Raiders have for the past decade or so won't make your team any better.

Eagles won't win the division, even though it's bad. Giants almost beat the Patriots today; Eagles are tied at 5 losses with the Patriots still ahead of them, plus a game against the Cardinals and the @ Giants game. Redskins are in the mix as well technically, but nobody is giving them a chance because Kirk Cousins is awful. Giants still play in Minnesota and against Carolina, so it's not going to be easy by any means, but if Victor Cruz comes back... watch out, NFL.

I generally have a fair bit of respect for your posts in this forum because you seem knowledgable about the entire league and have a good understanding of the game. Also you make fun of avante nicely as well. However in this instance, you're just flat out wrong. Manning has been declining for the last season and a half and has done little to nothing to help the teams chances to win. Gameplanning against him must be like unwrapping a birthday present for DC's because the answer is put 8 guys in the box, Rush 5 minimum and make him have to get rid of the ball quickly or get sacked.

manning is such a liability for the Broncos at this point and offers literally zero upside. He's had two good games in his last 15 starts (give or take). A true game manager that accepts that role, can scramble, can avoid sacks, and can put some zip on his fastball will provide a tremendous lift to this team and will help out what really is a great defense that is being forced to play far too much on any give sunday.

True, it's speculative. However, look at who you're talking about as the other guy....dude just out up the worst football game by a quarterback EVER. And the most shocking part about it was that it wasn't shocking even a little. Ask any Broncos fan that has watched every game Manning has played wearing orange and blue. His skill level has depleted to the point that it makes Ryan Leaf look good in comparison.

His accuracy is garbage, his mobility is beyond garbage, his velocity is shot, his decision making is terrible, he can't run the offense they have out in place for him (coaches fault, not his)....he has no upside at all. Experience means nothing if you can throw the ball more than 75 FEET downfield. I know you want to be right here, but speculative or not, Brock brings so much more to the table than does Manning at this point of his career. The dude is done.

And that's all without even mentioning the weather!

Manning isn't a model of postseason excellence (and I've been on record saying I don't think Denver will do much in the playoffs this year due to their offense) but there's a pretty solid chance that brock won't just be bad but for right dysfunctional. He doesn't have practice reps or rapport with any of the starters. Too much of a wildcard to throw him in. Maybe he'll impress during the off-season and camp, but he wasn't really a stellar prospect coming out.

Except that he's gotten a vast majority of the reps in practices this season because of mandatory rest put in place by Kubiak. Shit, I think Manning has only been practicing one day of the week every week and the rest is "mental reps" while Brock takes the actual snaps.

You're right though, it's speculative up until this weekend. I think I'm right though but we shall see.

DPG21920
11-17-2015, 04:28 PM
It's speculation because we have not seen it, but statistically Manning has been a bottom 5 QB. So in order for Brock to be more detrimental, he'd have to be worse than that which seems pretty unlikely.

:lmao you'd rather have a QB having a historically bad season and barely able to throw a football, because he's done it before? I hope you're being sarcastic, tbh..

All Osweiler has to do is not be the 32nd worst starting QB in the NFL, and he'll be an upgrade over this version of Manning..if he can't do that, then he should quit the NFL.

spurraider21
11-17-2015, 04:58 PM
Not every qb in the NFL is fit to be a starter. I'd rather have a guy who is 1 year removed from being a good qb than some guy we've never seen because "he might be better."

HarlemHeat37
11-17-2015, 05:03 PM
Manning has had 17 consecutive games of mediocre to horrible performances..he's been finished for a long time, unfortunately..

We've been giving him the benefit of the doubt because he's Manning, but it's evident that he's beyond finished..

If Osweiler can be a below average QB, which is a very realistic expectation, he'll be a huge upgrade..he's also in a pretty good situation, considering he has WRs that consistently create separation and make plays on the ball(bailed Manning out a ton, the past 2 seasons)..

There's literally no upside in keeping Manning at QB..if Osweiler is the worst starting QB in the NFL, then all the Broncos did was go from the worst starting QB in the NFL to the worst starting QB in the NFL:lol..

-goddamn KC has an easy schedule--probably be the Vegas favorites in all 6 remaining games. Take away their inexplicably stupid losses to Denver and Chicago and they are looking at a possible 13-3 season. That offense is still atrocious to watch though, and Alex Smith is one of the only QB's I know who actively seeks out field goals. Would like to see Buffalo in there instead, not only for personal reasons...KC is just boring as fuck to watch and they are a slam-dunk to lose in the WC round.

-The Bengals absolutely need to hold onto the 2nd seed, if not they will get Pittsburgh in the first round and we all know how that will end.

-The Lions look like they could possibly finish 8-8 after a 1-7 start (much to the dismay of Lions fans)

-Would like to see TB make it over ATL. Winston is playing well and getting on the same page with his slew of weapons. Hopefully ASJ can comeback and be an additional weapon. Exciting young team.

-Dallas is currently ranked dead-last in the NFC--with only 6 games left. How crazy would it be if they made the playoffs? It'll have to be via the NFC East crown however b/c all the teams in the WC ahead of them have beatem them H2H (ATL, TB, SEA, NO).

Updated. Bengals desperately need to win next week or they'll get Pittsburgh in the first round and we all know how that will end. Marvin will keep his job, regardless

2 years without playoffs. Sad times. To pile on the anguish, I lost my fantasy semi-finals match, which cost me at least $450. Oh well, time to get drunk at MNF tonight.

I'm in the finals despite having to auto draft my team (besides my keeper, Megatron). Cam, Olsen, and Sanders were huge for me

I want the Jets to crush Buffalo...gives us a better draft position, and I'd love to see Fitzmagic in the playoffs

Can't wait to play AZ. Everyone hyping them up forgetting they can't stop the run and lost two games to backups.

people thinking they are going to be a shoe in for the SB

Looks like Houston is in barring a miracle in the form of a bunch of teams losing that should not. I can't believe they've managed to win enough games with no real RB and no QB to get in.
