The only legit argument is Brady vs Joe Montana, John Unitas and Otto Graham. Yes when it comes to...THE GOAT...you must take era into consideration, who dominated their era? This is why Jim Brown is so revered, there has never been anyone as dominate at RB as he was. Could he average over 5 yards a carry vs these guys today, of course not. But....he could play at 6-2 230, 4.5 jets.

What planet do you come from little fella? I've noticed you're not a fan of reality at all.

I'm a huge fan of RW and Cam had a great season but don't act retarded, which you're doing.

Check it out.

8 seasons of over 60 completion %
5 seasons with over 4000 yards
5 seasons with 30 or more td
6 seasons where he thre less than 10 INT'

Now this is amazing...7 seasons with over a 100 QB rating

That's Aaron Rodgers, he's in a whole other time zone than RW or Cam Newton. Go ahead compare their numbers.

Yes RW has had the best first 4 seasons because Rodgers sat on a bench.

Aaron Rodgers is a fantastic QB, don't be a fool, ok?

Dude, why not take a few minutes and actually do some homework, ok?

So many of you get soooooooooooooooooo wrapped up/carried away with the last thing ya saw, hahahahaha!!!!!!!!! It is funny to watch, ya look at......THE BODY OF WORK....ok? Hell, the Packers once held Barry Sanders to ..0...yards, what Sanders all of a sudden sucked?

The evolution of a football fan.

As time goes on ya start to finally figure out there are two different things in the NFL. Pre Turkey Day and post Turkey Day. The rookies will figure out to never ever get too carried around with anything pre Turkey Day.

Criticizing Aaron Rodgers, hahahaha~~~~~~~~~ Bragging on a Sam Bradford, non Peterson Vikes, hahahaha~~~~~~~

Look at the Dolphins pre TD and post.

Denver won their first 4 games, 1=3 in their last 4.

Detroit was 1-3 starting out, have gone 4-1 last 5.

This is what a GREAT/HOFer to be QB's career looks like.

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/R/RodgAa00.htm

Now sometime next season there will probably been a time where the guy is a little off, flat, it's just now working. SLOW DOWN...ok? The NFL is not the NCAA, these guys don't have to win every game, just win the division, so we don't always see the same level of intensity.

My shitty take from LAST SEASON ended in Cancer Palmer outplaying Dodgers. #caseclosed:sleep

Whether or not he's on the Pey-Pey PED regimen THIS SEASON is another story & I didn't make an agenda post about it, just threw it out there.

I already collected my money LAST SEASON, I WON!:king (I didn't put a dime on the current season so my pocket is straight no matter what happens. I'm out here playing w/ house money which has y'all panties' in bunches:lol)

olivia was a liberal feminazi piece of shit that succeeded into turning rodgers into a progressivist sissy. All the packers fans up in suburban wisconsin who turned the state red probably don't want to hear that.

Aaron Rodgers will end his career as a Mount Rushmore of QB's candidate, the guy is fantastic.

Look at a QB's body of work, don't look at...a...game, ya look at seasons.

Im in Asia, but saw chunks of the second half. Rodgers was absolute trash in the second half, and forced his weak Defense on the field again and again. He gets no pass for this one.

And that's how it should be, the thing is all of them have those games. There has never been any QB who didn't have bad games. It happens to everyone.

Brett Favre has had a six INT game.

Tom Brady on his 4-INT day. ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Quarterback Tom Brady threw four interceptions in Sunday's 34-31 loss to the Bills, matching his regular-season total from all of 2010, matching his career high. The last time Brady threw four interceptions in a game was 2006 against the Colts.Sep 25, 2011

The great Joe Montana was benched in a playoff game he was sucking that hard.

People watch a game and get silly with it, these guys play 16 games in a season, don't get too anything over one or a few, it's all about how the season goes.

with today's rules Favre would be close to 50 TDs a season. Favre would have made that 3rd and 2 throw to win the game, he was more clutch

Im in Asia, but saw chunks of the second half. Rodgers was absolute trash in the second half, and forced his weak Defense on the field again and again. He gets no pass for this one.

He made some awful throws and seemed like he was locked in on one target instead of going through his reads. There were a few times that Jones was wide open as a check down option with plenty or space to run.
But Rodgers didn't even give him a look.

There's also a good chance that he throws an interception after he gets them in FG range though.

Rodgers is clearly on the decline, it's been evident all year, he can't carry a team like he used to, looks like Lakers LeBron..he needs a scheme to make him look better like the other old guys playing at a high level..doesn't change his peak ability, though..

I've never understood the QB vs. QB matchup arguments:lol they don't play against each other on the field..and who made that list? Brady and Wilson are the only actual elite QBs there..Goff, Ryan, Luck, Cam? Wtf?

Brees is the best QB in the world right now (above Brady), and legacy wise -- he'll be in the same tier as Peyton Manning and above the Marino's, Favre and Rodgers tier, if he wins his 2nd ring this year.

can't argue with 78% completion rate, the most passing yards in the league, the fewest interceptions (only 1!), best TD-INT ratio (by far), and fewest sacks taken. Breesus >>>>>

that's a bullshit subjective stat though... what defines "elite QB". They conveniently left out the time he beat Wentz. Also, Dak Prescott was considered elite in 2016, but not anymore. There's other examples as well.

Aaron Rodgers has the highest QB rating for a career there is at 103.

He will be in the top 4ish with stats when he retires. He's won a SB. He's won the MVP.

He will be on that Mount Rushmore for QB's along with....Brady, Montana and Peyton.

He is the only great QB with 4 times more TD's than INT's. 382/79

Tom Brady

comp %...64.0.
QB rating....97.5

Rodgers

64.9
103.7

Brady has had seven seasons where he had 30 or more TD;s
Rodgers in a lot fewer season......six

Brady has had nine seasons where he has 10 or more INT's
Rodgers....two. (fewer seasons)

Rodgers has over 2,800 rishing yards, far FAR more than Brady,

If talking SB success Terry Bradshaw won four, he wouldn't make a zit on the butt of Aaron Rodgers.

QB's who have twice been the MVP

Steve Young
Brett Favre
Tom Brady
Aaron Rodgers

Peyton three.

Aaron Rodgers must be considered one of the top 4ish QB's of all time.

Although I will have to admit that Brady's legacy is a little overrated, his last 2 rings in particular were VERY very lucky... much more lucky than good. The first 3, he led some clutch final field goal drives, but the defense was the heart and soul of the team. He wasn't 2007-2016 era Tom Brady good back then.

Why do you act like luck isn’t always a part of it? The Malcolm Butler interception is a more pronounced example of good luck but for every example of good luck Brady has had shitty luck (Wes Welker dropping a wide open pass that would have won the 2011 Super Bowl, Asante Samuel dropping an easy interception that would have sealed a 19-0 season, Reche Caldwell dropping a pass in 2006 that would have put Brady in a Super Bowl against Rex Gr:lolssman, etc). Just like how Brady could easily have only 3 Super Bowls he could also have 7-8. If you want to play the “what if lighting struck Tom Brady’s dick on the way to the Super Bowl” card it needs to work both ways.

Asante Samuel's play on the ball on the final Eli Manning drive was definitely NOT easy... he made a valiant acrobatic leaping attempt but Yao Ming on a ladder would have had a tough time coming down with that one.

the welker drop was awful. the caldwell drop is so overplayed though... even if he caught it he was going to go down for a 4-5 yard gain on 1st and 15. that was not ending the game :lol

the seahawks/falcons wins were some good fortune though. quinn's playcalling was awful, constantly having ryan drop back instead of just handing the ball off and killing clock. the seahawks one is the worst... carroll will never live that one down. gruden did his best to replicate that multiple times this season before lynch got hurt. gruden didnt deserve lynch tbh

big Ghaz hit it on the head

Aaron Rodgers consistently will complete passes that no other QB can replicate. Just crazy talented in terms of accuracy from all points on the field. In the NBA, there's always the debate of "who do you want taking the last shot?". If there was an NFL equivalent (i.e. you have one pass to the endzone to win the game from ____ yards away, who do you choose?), I'd go with Rodgers

but something is missing when it comes to the GOAT talk tbh and i don't watch enough football to know what it is. Outside of the great three-year stretch of 2010-2012, I don't see many big wins especially since that time frame. I know they beat the Patriots in 2014, but I can't think of any others since that timeframe. The only playoff success they've had was beating the GarrettBot a few times in the playoffs, which is about as difficult as tying your own shoe. :lol Other than that, they will consistently lose games against playoff teams and either beat the drum off of crappy ones or have some miraculous comeback, which overshadows the fact that their opponent was subpar in the first place

Obviously he's not had the best teams/coaching around him, but I don't see that as an excuse when debating whether or not he's the GOAT. Peyton Manning had plenty of seasons where he didn't have talent around him, but still made the Colts annual contenders

One of the biggest problems I see with him is the tendency go always go for the big play. He’s got a reverse Joe Flacco problem. Joe Flacco regularly likes to check it down for a 4 yard gain on 3rd and 10 while Rodgers likes to chuck it downfield on 3rd and 3.

that stat is kinda weak though. for instance they came back in week 1 against the Bears this year, who have turned out to be quite a good team this year with a good winning record. but since they were 0-0 at the time it doesn't count.

Ugh please. He choked with prime Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb on the roster along with Adams. He choked with Nelson, Greg Jennings, Donald Driver, James Jones and Jermichael HOFinley. He choked with a 15-1 team and home field advantage. He's a career playoff choker, that's it and that's all.

I don't know that giants defense was as good as this 49ers defense, probably better. He really didn't have much time to throw in that game either iirc. He's just ran into better teams with better coaching, with fluke plays going against him in 2014. Great players can't over come bad coaching, you know tbh...

About that time is when Vick was suspended for dog fighting so, yeah, I didn't watch as much NFL during that time. That definitely made miss a lot of Rodger's prime. But, even though I wasn't watching as many games as normal, I still watched some and caught some GB ones (mostly playoffs games) and I never had the luck of watching a game that made go "damn, that Rodgers dude is special". I did miss his SB run, so there's that. Like I said: probably (likely) my fault. I can still check the stats though (which I already did), and they don't scream "GOAT level" either, tbh.

Even though I did a lot of Rodgers scoffing in the NFCCG thread (mainly at CN calling him the "GOAT") there's no denying he was a special talent. As spurraider said, when you combine accuracy, arm strength, and mobility he may be the most "talented" quarterback to ever play the game. There was a small window in 2011 or so when he played the QB position at a higher level than I have personally seen in 20 years of watching football. His MVP season was special to watch. However he doesn't have the sustained excellence in the playoffs or against elite teams to be in consideration of the "GOAT" over Brady. It's really that simple to me imo. He's a surefire HOF'er and right there in the class of Marino, Peyton, Brees, etc.

It's one thing to be more talented and another to be the better player. I always thought KG was more talented than Duncan, but everyone knows who the better player was

The defense let him down??

Team and coaching as whole let him down for the most part along with some bad luck.
06 He fumbled (though i still say that ball was slicked, since the NFL switched to the "K" balls the next year and stoped letting the home team handle the balls).

07 he ran into a historically hot giants Defense that held even the atg 07 pats to 17pts, crayton dropping that 3rd down pass and pulling up on his route which would've been the GW TD still gives me nightmares.

08 O-line getting Raped by Jim Johnson's eagles
09 O-line getting Raped by Minnesota, can't stop Sidney Rice.
10- broken collarbone miss playoffs.
11- Loses win and in game against another hot Giants team that won the superbowl.
12 Loses win and in game against RG3. he probably played his worst game here. Though the team was horrible defensively and the receiving corp was dog shit.

13 Misses last game of season cause of a hernia, doesn't get to play another win and in game against Philly

14 Has perfect QBR against green bay, Yet Murray fumbles with no one in front of him, Bailey misses a field goal and Dez Drops the ball( though today's rules it's a catch). Shit defense can't pressure 1 legged Rodgers

15- Broke collar bone twice during season had a 3-1 record starting though.

16 took a cheap shot in the back from cliff avril in pre season, never was given a chance to come back.

Just bad Luck, shit team construction along with bad coaching and locker room turmoil, tbh.
You could replace Romo with Tom Brady and I promise you the cowboys still don't win a ring during those years imho.

generally top-5 playoff teams on either conference, when GB is on the road, provided the star QB isn't out (i.e., last year's win @ KC doesn't count)... only "good" road wins since Rodgers' championship season have been at Dallas, and does that really qualify as "good" tbh? Aaron Rodgers OWNS Jerryworld.

Yep, Will Hunting and I have been saying it for years. Other than owning The Bot's Cowboys, it's pretty much a guarantee he'll lose the tough road game in the regular season and playoffs. It's been that way pretty much since their 15-1 2011 season. But he has that one game every year at home where he leads a miracle comeback against some crap team, which leads the casual fan to overhype him per par etc
