Spurs are leading the league in FG%? That's awesome considering their midrange proclivities.

Does this graphic really tell you anything useful if it doesn't at least break out 3's separately?

They need to use TS% or eFG%.

Thats a cool graphic.

What we would want from the Spurs is layups averaged with 3's puts us middle distance. Not a bunch of midrange shots putting us in the middle.
Love the Lakers putting up mortar shots in the wind.

Must be porker is so shiity mow compared to being average. Ever since he started his "this team goes as far as mvparker takes them" parker declined and everytime he seats in the playoffs the spurs win

Interesting. So the Spurs are a midrange shooting team, and very accurate at it.

They could be a layup and 3 pt team. That would avg. out to midrange.

The variation of range is not mentioned.

I think the Spurs are a midrange team. Your top two shooters (in field goal attempts) like to take midrange jumpers. Duncan and Parker often take the midrange jumpshot as well.

Maybe.

I would like some #s

more so than last year and the year before it seems. Duncan and Aldridge are getting some junk underneath as well this year. Parker has had some bac doors and Leonard has had a good number of steal-dunks. Losing Marco gets rid of one very proficient 3 pt shooter at long range, probably the longest range on the team

If we knew nothing about the spurs, sure. But having watched them play, we know they do shoot a lot from midrange.

Also I would expect most data points to cluster around the mean, with the extreme values being in the tails of the distribution. You do make a good point, though. They should include error bars.

If I had to guess I would say you are right.

I agree entirely with this. The previous chart doesn't reveal as much.

It matters more how many points are scored, not the shot percentage.
