Strange way to get to the US. Maybe it's well known that our southern border is porous and deportation is not strongly enforced.

I'm sure they're just looking for work.

Indeed, it's as though they felt it would be too tedious and difficult to get into the U.S. using the refugee services programs we have in place to bring them over here legally with prior screening.

They were caught by Honduras dumbass. You sure know how to demonstrate how easy it is to get here.

In before Obama and Hillary start screeching that Honduras is a bunch of racist xenophobes and that these Syrians must be resettled here in a red state immediately.

Strange way to get to the US.

It's actually a fairly common route for central americans to get to the US.

Sure, but I would guess it's not a common route for Syrians.

I don't really know how many ME people come that way. It's certainly the obvious (and only, AFAIK) route if you want to enter the US illegally.

Just heard on Telemundo that almost 16000 peeps from north africa traveled to Honduras in the last year...

My main concern isn't these 5 syrians, is the porous border, tbh

I've always maintained that border security is where we need to start if you want to get serious about illegal immigration... this predates Trump's candidacy... :lol

There's no way you can tell me we spend trillions of dollars in drones, high end military equipment, etc and we can't deal with Pedro and his band of coyotes on our own southern border... you don't need a wall, you need to get serious about it.

It's a huge national security hole. Cartels already move guns, drugs and all sorts of stuff through there. Shit, if push comes to shove, kill nafta and close entry entirely from that border, including legal.
