- He has to shutdown big time scores and then score on the other end ad well.

- TD, KG, Orlando dwight, lebron and PG13 in 2012 are the only other players that i can think off that had that much responsibility.

- Tony Parker has a lot on his plate too, but it's moslty during dinner and lunch time.

So Glad we have a top 5 player in the league and an MVP candidate.:flag:

Kawhi is the name of the island opposing scoring SFs go to die... Amazing defense from him this year, even better than last season. Plus he's a consistent and efficient 20 ppg guy on the other end. If this kid learns to go to the line he's a top 3 player in the league.

I think its safe to say they are not spur fans but trolls. I'm not even going to say they are Kawhi fans just trolls trying to stir up shit. It's very obvious after these last two wins they are clearly not spur fans.

Nah. Just one or two haters and their alts are getting mad when Kawhi had a good game. I mean, since this thread is about him...

Parker doesn't deserve any hate this year...yet. Playing smart.

Remains to be seen if it's because LMA's presence has boosted his game or if it's simply a case of being fresh in the young season (one minor injury and Parker's game just seems to tank. Like I always have said, a 90% healthy Parker is 50% as good as a 100% healthy Parker).

It helps that Leonard has become a 20 PPG scorer and that Aldridge is already a quality interior scorer himself. These two players presence has made it a ton easier for Parker to just pick his spots and not press the issue. He doesn't have to be his 2013 self production wise and that will allow him to look a ton better than last season.

Why these fake"Spur fans" don't realize this and take their obvious agenda else where is beyond me. Once Danny starts consistently knocking down the three-point attempts then the starting 5 will be scary, scary good. LaMarcus needs to be more efficient as well, but I'm not sure if his mid range based game will allow that.

kawhi hasnt peaked yet as a player, even if he peaks his production will be limited due to a pos on t he team holding him back...

that pos we all know who he is....

thinking about that pos rent free.... had he gone to the knicks in a trade...the spurs couldve had that white stuff pringles on the team...

Tony Parker shot attempts per game/FG%/PPG:

'12-'13: 15.1 FGA/52.2%/20.3ppg
'13-'14: 13.4 FGA/49.9%/16.7ppg
'14-'15: 12.2 FGA/48.6%/14.4ppg
'15-'16: 9.5 FGA/54.8%/ 12.8ppg

Parker is taking fewer shots than ever & hitting them at a much more efficient rate. He's deferring to Kawhi & LMA, as he should. He's doing exactly what he's supposed to be doing. Anyone who can't see this is just being stubborn.

You take that away and you take away their shtick. They've been doing it for months, maybe even years, and they're very defensive about it. Take that away and there's a chance they don't actually have any personality or things to discuss. Anyone who actually watches the games knows Parker is taking the backseat, and is happy to do so.

Would like to see Tony become a more confident shooter, but I think he's working out well on offense. His defense is too streaky, though, and that needs to change since he doesn't have the excuse of having to carry the other end now. Same issue with Green. Danny should be striving to be Bowen 2.0. He should be 100-percent focused on defense at this point.

The problem is the Spurs are low in depth at the small guard position; Tony knows the system well and can drive, Patty can shoot and pass well. Neither are good at defense. Danny is already trying for his best defense, so that's good. Mental lapses aside, he tends to start off cold and get into the groove as the season goes on. I expect good things from him.

Parker used to be a good defender. He wasn't even bad during the 2014 playoffs. I don't believe he's too old to do it. Ginobili can defend pretty well for his age. Tony doesn't have the speed to guard elite PGs, but it's a matter of will to match up against opposing twos or threes. He just needs to stick his nose in and do it.

Green isn't locked in right now. He isn't great at defending off-ball guys. He's not good at going around screens, and he loses focus and tries to help if he doesn't respect the offense of his man. It would make sense to make Danny the designated defender and allow Kawhi to play off the ball. Danny needs the discipline to get back into form, and Kawhi needs someone to lighten his load.

Yeah, I agree. I don't mind Green's attempts going down and those extra shots going to Kawhi & LMA at all. His 3PT% is down so far, but that doesn't worry me. He'll hit a hot streak and be back around 38-40% by the all star break... last season, after the first 7 games, Danny was 10-36 from three for 27.7%. This year, after 10 games he's shooting 30% 3ptFG%...
