Post Game interview:

“I thought he was great,” Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. “He’s had some games where he’s started slowly. But overall what matters is what he is doing now. He is playing really good defense. He’s being really active and aggressive offensively.”

:bobo tbh...

The fact that he pointed it out means it rarely happens :lol

Cant really complain about TP's play so far this season. But then again we tend to overlook things because of the pretty record. Hope he keeps it up.

Glad he D'd up that kid from the nuggets. Does this mean he'll be able to guard Dion Waiters now?

In all seriousness, I don't see how people could be too dissatisfied with his play this year. Nowhere near what he used to be of course, but much improved from last season and you can at least tell that he's definitely accepting a smaller role (not even averaging 10 FGA at the moment). When he has tried scoring, he's done so efficiently. Certainly seems like his main focus has been getting others involved as opposed to jacking up shots himself.

I'd be content if he could keep up this level of play all season and into the playoffs.

Porky hasn't been a problem yet this season tbh. Hopefully he keeps it up and continues taking a backseat to kawhi...

I think the addition of Aldridge (combined with how poorly he performed last year) really made him realize he doesn't need to be the main guy or even close to it. Now even if Kawhi is having an off game or not being aggressive, there is another guy who can assume some of the offensive load as opposed to Tony feeling like he needs to carry the team himself.

Knock on wood though...let's hope he keeps this up and doesn't revert back to how he was last year :lol

WTF 1 good game against a scrub rookie pg, and u clowns think his defense has improve all year?

then u might as well go put him on his main opponent at his position then continue hiding him on some scrub

Playing fine to start the season. Let's see how he does when it matters in the playoffs.

The thing I notice most about his D is the effort and that's all you can ask for. If he gets his offense going lookout. He's getting to the rim just not finishing like he has in the past.

I would give him a 2 week vacation in February like before the 14 title run. He's been awesome but he has to be spry come playoffs tbh.

I don't even think you believe that quote brah. :lol

I mean it does seem like he is trying to play defense harder but he still sucks at it. I think we can all agree on that.

Must be terrible to try to defend but you are still so bad at it. Kawhi and green still has to defend.

The fact that he pointed it out means it rarely happens :lol

That is true but it was nice to see that he's still actually able to play defense b/c he wasn't physically able to play defense last season.:lol

I have to agree with Pop here. Tony (and Patty fwiw) have been terrible at fighting through screens but I thought Tony did a good job of it last night. I mean, it wasn't exactly Chris Paul running those PnRs but you have to start somewhere.

His defense has been atrocious all season long, old sport had one good game and went right back to being Porker.
