Zero perimeter D. Zero passing. Zero vision. Zero leadership. Zero IQ. Zero rotations. Zero effort. Zero urgency. Zero fucks to give.

Dominated by Ish fucking Smith.

Honorable Mention: the shitty frontcourt that couldnt rotate, set a screen to save their lives, rebound, or put a hand in Ryan andersons face enroute to 20+ pt game full of threes, dunks, layups and and apparently lockdown D on Kawhi :rolleyes

Props to Pop for benching Parker again, and not shying away from playing young guns. If the rotation players are gonna waste time, might as well give minutes to Boban and McCallum and Simmons.

He's one of the 3 quickest players in the NBA, but also one of the worst shooters in recent history at the PG position..

He can blow by anybody on any team, tbh..the problem was on the help more than anything tonight, defending a lightning quick player that can't shoot should be an easy team effort..

The issue isnt how good Ish Smith is. its how terrible and pathetic our backcourt is, sans manu.

DOG, THIS HAPPENS EVERY FUCKING GAME!!! parker's defense is making stars out of ever fucking pg in the league. Who can this guy guard? I just need the name of ONE player in the league he can keep from having a good scoring game. JUST ONE!!! Then mills gets in the game and he can't guard shit. wtf

Anthony Davis is the best roll man in the league & Ish Smith is one of the best at getting into the paint. No help defense = Murder. When Ryan Anderson is cooking then the helper is all the way at the 3 point line but that wasn't the issue tonight since nobody was guarding Anderson.:lol

This game was a hybrid of the 2014 Mavs series (sleep walking/lack of urgency/unable to stop a quick guard from getting into the paint/Patty getting murdered on defense) & the 2010 Suns series (layups by the guards/roll man or 3s courtesy of stretch 4s/Tim looking old).

Davis' rolling + his ability to stretch the floor, along with Anderson, obviously, has given the Spurs major problems the past few years..they really are a bad matchup IMO..

And ya, the Spurs' biggest weaknesses on defense have been quick guards and stretch bigs(and shooters that play off screens, although there aren't many in the league)..despite the defense being elite since 2013, those types of matchups have generally presented issues..

Hi, Danny blows :lmao

I love Danny, but hes been spending too much time practicing on dribble penetration and pick and rolls instead of focusing on being a knockdown 3 pt shooter and the other half of wingstop. Hes DEFINITELY disappointed this year. Hopefully he'll come around though.

Its frustrating, I dont wanna say it but he is reaching Dick Jefferson levels (a fucking ghost).

We didn't have our full backcourt. Ginobili would have helped. Parker had 5 assists and 0 turnovers. Also had 5 rebounds. Duncan had 0 rebounds in 19 minutes. Parker shot poorly, but he contributed. Mills was ok offensively, but not great defensively. Mills had 3 turnovers and 3 assists. Green shot poorly (again), but had 8 rebounds. Pels played great. They are not a bad team. This loss probably stings more because they have such a bad record. Wouldn't be surprised if they start moving up in the standings pretty soon.

Anybody in the NBA can have one good game. Spurs issue is they have no defense at the PG position. That will be a weakness to exploit.

Well, one is enough to beat us. Kerr has instilled a very nice set of off-screen plays for Curry and Thompson. We should try to solve this issue...

I have never seen a guard that is easier to set a pick on than Tony. He always gets tangled up with the picker and then blames the switch man for any repercussions. Tony seems to want to get picked off his man.

Take out Ish Smith and put in the Isaiah Thomas and Avery Bradley.

Take out Ryan Anderson and put in Jae Crowder.

Continue to shake your head in disbelief.

Crowder wasn't playing stretch 4, he was guarding Kawhi. Amir Johnson was playing the 4 but Pop refused to trap & dare him to shoot in the 4th quarter.

This season? Our ability to guard quick PGs went south as soon as Bruce fell off. Danny could do it now, but for whatever reason in the RS Pop usually elects to let the opposing PG torch Tony/Patty for the 1st quarter, then puts Danny on him when the guy is already in a rhythm.

Bruce didn't guard Paul in the playoffs well IIRC...

I thought it was like this: when Pop switched Parker on to Paul and Bruce on to Stojakovic, that's when the Spurs finally gained the edge.
