UFA next year. Could be a decent third big. Him and West in the bench..Bobo and LMA...

Assuming Timmy retires.

If the player is useless vs the Warriors then I don't want them tbh

I always felt like he'd end up playing for us, so yeah I'm for it. I think he'd try harder for us than for any other team in the league other than the Pacers pre-trade.

I think he can still be a decent 5-10 minute guy. He had lockeroom problems in indiana because george fuckednhis wife...obviously right now hes playing for the lakers.

Hibbert, imo would be a nice situational players.

5-10 minutes would be Boban status. Robin Lopez got paid so I'm pretty sure there is a team out there that would pay him 10 mill. The Wizards could use him when Nene becomes a free agent (he went to Georgetown so that's right up his alley). Miami if Whiteside bails, the Hornets if Big Al doesn't re-sign, Bulls since Noah/Pau are free agents, Warriors if Ezeli gets a max offer. Cavs can only offer the minimum but they might lose Mozgov. I wouldn't be surprised if Boston made him an offer since they have no rim protectors.

D-West is his buddy & Tim is his idol so I wouldn't be surprised of he signed a one yr contract to go ring chasing if the Spurs win the chip.

Hibbert gets a lot of shit (some of it deservingly, some not so much), but realistically you couldn't really ask for a much better backup C to give you 15ish minutes a night.

I mean how many backup C's in the league right now are better than Hibbert?

The last part, Hibbert has been broken down concentrarion wise since george banged his wife and its hard to play in LA. Might.serve him to be in a good environment and accept a 5-10 minutes role insteadnof going to another toxic environment.

Ezeli
Tristan
Nene
=Noah
Kanter
Capela
Tiago Shitter
Olynyk
Javale:lol
Jokic
Brandon Wright
Pekovic (when healthy)
Ed Davis
Koufos

Diaw also basically plays backup center.

Hibbert is not going anywhere to be a 5-10 mpg backup.

In the event Duncan retires after this season, I could see them signing Hibbert, but otherwise it's not happening.

If Duncan returns and West isn't retained, I could see them pursuing Varejao.

Zeller is good at finishing at the rim but he is a mediocre defender/rebounder/shot blocker, just not a good fit next to LMA.

He's an elite mid-range shooter and he's very mobile. His numbers last year aren't far from what Tiago did for us.

You need a blue-collar type guy next to LMA not another finesse player. Zeller can't defend anywhere close to a healthy Shitter. If D-West bails then he would be a nice backup but someone like Mozgov is a much better fit next to LMA.

Was talking to a friend a couple weeks ago about this. Told him I thought we'd be interested in him, he said I'm crazy. Could easily see it. His best basketball is behind him, but at 29 years old, you're not going to find a better backup Center on the market (depending on his asking price, obv). He's definitely a better option than washed Joakim Noah, and Mozgov isn't leaving CLE.

Mozgov isn't leaving the Cavs.

I think whoever plays next to LMA needs to be more mobile than him. Finesse around the rim is how you abuse smaller lineups and Zeller has that ability with hook shots. Also we need a decent passing big next to LMA.

If Duncan is still here, wouldn't mind him next year, I don't want 2 mental midgets and nobody to baby sit. Hibbert was monstrous on defense with the Pacers, one of the best rim protectors in the NBA, he needs to get in the right state of mind.

If Duncan plays one more season and Wes retires, i can see him being a Spur just to play in Tims team.

I dont know why so many here hate on the guy, okay, not everyone reacts like brent barry.

Is a young player, has good size, seems to be a fan of duncan. Its enough to me to bring him, if Tim and Pop cannot make him a player, no one can.

I mentioned this before, but as soon as I saw Roy Hibbert was traded to the Lakers I started thinking straight away that if they were having a bad season and if as a result of that he starts getting unhappy there, maybe he can ask for a buyout and join the Spurs mid-season - that would be my ideal scenario to get a rim protector on this team that can play some solid minutes off the bench and really solidify that second team's defense. I think for sure that if he's bought out, he'd come to the Spurs. Do you guys think the Spurs would want him in that scenario?

yeah and kawhitstorm also listed about 3/4 of the nba's backups as better backups than hibbert :lol... and RJ24 is one of the worst, most emo posters here. if that's your support here, it's on thin ice.

Boban has a 1yr contract. I see Hibbert playing with us next year. He works out with Tim during the off season and he would be the next player who would play better with us than he does now, Boris Diaw 2.0 He was playing horrible in Charlotte and look what happend when he joined us.
He would be an improvement over Boban
