View Full Version : Kawhi currently has 5th best PER in the league..

spursistan

He would be the first Spurs player to finish in Top 5 in the league since Duncan in 2010 and first to register +25 PER since Timmy did in 2007..

other than the insane % of his 3PT (49), i think KL can keep up most of what he's been doing..He has cut down on the TOs after the first few games and has done better job with his shot selection for the benefit more play making to his teammates....

Seeing Whiteside up there is crazy ... playing like that could catapult Miami into the East Finals again

The mpg numbers are interesting. Ten years ago, the top 7 players in PER all averaged over 38 mpg, with several over 40 mpg. Only Harden is above 38 mpg among the top 12 this season.

3pt% won't hold up and with that his PPG will also decrease. He has room to improve the assists though. I think he will finish around the 22/23 PER range.

I initially thought he and LMA would be averaging 18-20 PPG both, but i'm not sure that is happening anymore..I think Kawhi will keep his above 20ppg; he is clearly way ahead of curve in the systems than Lamarcus and is improving by leaps and bounds..Yes, the 3PT percentage will come down..

3pointers will go down as a percentage but bear in mind that the rest of his game is still rapidly improving. His PPG could actually increase as he becomes accustomed to being able to dominate players. Also if he develops better dribble-drive penetration the NBA = fucked. :lol

This. Only Whiteside and Favors, both bigs, have lower usage rates. Det true shooting percentage, too. LOL, Harden and Westbrook.

I just can't get over how low Kawhi's turnover % is. That would be very low for big, but as a perimeter player that's nuts. It's even more impressive because it's the lowest of his career with his highest useage rate yet.

Also,:lmao at Whitesides assist %.

spursistan

MVP seems like a cyclical award nowadays..Lebron was the best player in the world from 2008-2014 but it didn't prevent others from nabbing a couple off him in that time (Rose/Kobe/Durant)..I don't think Curry's reign will be as dominant/long or the one who will likely inherit the title of best player in the league for him (Anthony Davis for health reasons), so Kawhi might get a year window to sneak one but it won't sure be in 2016..I think it is probably going to be in a post-Duncan Spurs; if he could lead a team to 55 win and top 3 seed..

Whiteside had a HIGHER PER LAST SEASON. He got sonned by Drummonds who has a lower PER b/c he doesn't get spoon fed like Whiteside. If you go by PERs Derrick Favors & Anus Kanter would be top 20 players:lmao

I'm actually more surprised by Durant (66%) after Kawhi emasculated him in the season opener, Curry is supposed to be on a "never seen before" level but has a lower TS% than Korver (72%) at the same point last season.

They got run out of the gym by the Cavs who were playing without Kyrie. Wade is done being a superstar, Bosh is overrated, Dragic is a bad fit. They have no chance against a healthy Cavs squad.

The entire spurs team needs to improve "offensively" if they want to beat Golden State, not just Leonard. They can't hide Parker on Barnes anymore like two years ago. Barnes is an excellent three point shooter and post up player now. They have a "small ball death lineup" designed to kill & destroy teams' hopes of beating them. They build 20-point leads so that their MVP Curry can rest in the 4th quarter. Their starters will be well rested come playoff time and their bench is getting valuable playing time.

Fireball
11-30-2015, 06:17 AM
Barnes already was a beast against Parker in the 2013 playoffs ... now the whole GS team is better

As good as the defense is ... the gap to GS defense does not offset the gap from their offense to ours

rasuo214
11-30-2015, 06:42 AM
What about Parker on Klay? I think I'd rather see Klay try to post up if it's between him and Barnes and obviously I'd rather Klay shoot 3s over Steph.
