On related news. Erdohitler's Turkish army has started directly shelling Syrian Armed forces territory from Turkey.

Also France seems to be on board with sealing the border.

crazy stuff

The deployment of the highly advanced Russian S-400 anti-air missiles at the Khmeimin base, Russia’s military enclave in Syria near Latakia, combined with Russia electronic jamming and other electronic warfare equipment, has effectively transformed most of Syria into a no-fly zone under Russian control. The US and Turkey have suspended their air strikes over Syria, including bombardments of Islamic State targets. The attacks on ISIS in Iraq continue without interruption. Turkey is now extra-careful to avoid flights anywhere near the Syrian border.

DEBKAfile’s military sources confirm that neither the US, Turkey or Israel have any real experience in contending with the Russian S-400, which uses multiple missile variants to shoot down stealth aircraft, UAVs, cruise missiles and sub-strategic ballistic missiles. Its operational range for aerodynamic targets is about 250 km and for ballistic targets 60 km. The S-400 can engage up to 36 targets simultaneously.
Thei range covers at least three-quarters of Syrian territory, a huge part of Turkey, all of Lebanon, Cyprus and half of Israel.

An electronic battlefield has spread over northern Syria and southern Turkey, with the Russian and Turks endeavoring to jam each other’s radar and disrupt their missiles. In this, the Russians have the advantage.

Since Wednesday night, Nov. 25, Russian heavy bombers and warplanes have been hitting every Turkish vehicle moving or stationary inside Syria. They bombed the Bab al-Hawa border crossing, located on the Turkey-Syria frontier, as well trailers and tractors parked in an area belonging to the Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation(a terrorist association in disguise), on the Syrian side of the border.

In addition to punishing the Turkish leader, Russia’s massive military operations in Syria aim to degrade the rebel groups fighting the Assad regime. Heavy bombing sorties this week on the Syrian-Turkish border are cutting off tens of thousands of rebels from their only source of fresh supplies of weapons, ammo, food and fighters, leaving them without a line of retreat and nowhere to send their wounded.

If that s400 system is half of what Russians tout it to be. It's pretty much. Game over move on to the next country for the west.

But Russia is also known to build lots of junk. So who knows, this s400 might not be all that. Anyway lets hope we don't find out anytime soon.

They are merrily slapping sanctions on each other. The latest Russian ban on some poultry from Turkey was a humdinger... shits about to get real...

And the comparisons between the leaders are notable. It's too bad they can't get along because they were made for each other. Both have a lot at stake in looking tough since they have effectively stamped out any sort of democracy. I will put tried to for Turkey as Putin has a stranglehold on Russia.

Autocrats always have trouble cooperating because they are used to "it's my way or the highway". They have a falling out with other autocrats sooner or later.

The nationalist have the same issue when they try to form international alliances - it's hard to square together "we are superior" and "we should accept this inferiors as our equal partners".

That's why they both fail in the long run. Cooperation and compromise is the basis of civilisation, some people just need to learn this the hard way... :(

On yeah the battle for that ISIS lifeline corridor has started. Turkey already has a large number of soldiers in that area fighting alongside AlQaeda and ISIS. US is also outing their military "advisors" there to serve as human shields for the jihadis. It's gonna be a battle alright, especially since Kurds, Russians and Syrians are weeks ahead in their strategy.

US has already stopped arming and supporting the Kurds at the request of Turkey.

You left out

The Syrian state news agency SANA reported that the U.S.-led coalition had bombed the water plant, while the Syrian Network for Human Rights blamed Syrian government warplanes. Neither gave any evidence for their assertions.

Nice meltdown. Meanwhile.

Since September 30, 2015, Russia has been carrying out air strikes in Syria in support of its ally President Bashar al-Assad. The campaign has been relentless and growing in intensity, with Russian jets flying 444 combat sorties against more than 1,500 targets between February 10 and 16 alone.

Moscow insists these attacks have been aimed only at fighters from ISIL and other "terrorist groups" such as al-Nusra Front. But monitoring groups, including the Violations Documentation Center and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, say thousands of non-combatants have also been killed or wounded.

Amnesty International and others have said the bombings may be war crimes. Indeed, Amnesty has also cited consistent reports of second bombardments from planes returning to kill and injure rescue workers, paramedics and civilians attempting to evacuate the wounded and the dead from earlier raids.

RUSSIA AND SYRIA TARGET ISIS TERRITORY AS BIG AS TWO U.S. STATES

The Syrian military and its allies, including Russia, are approaching the final steps toward completely surrounding the Islamic State militant group (ISIS) in a massive pocket of Syrian territory spanning the size of nearly two entire U.S. states.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a U.K.-based monitoring group with ties to the exiled opposition to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, released a report Monday detailing recent pro-government gains on two fronts that, if met, would seal off over 3,000 square miles of ISIS-held land in the Syrian desert, an area roughly equivalent to the states of Delaware and Rhode Island combined.

DAMASCUS (AFP) - Lured by potentially enormous contracts for reconstruction work in war-torn Syria, international companies have laid out their wares at the Damascus International Fair for the first time in six years.

The top event on pre-war Syria's economic calendar, the fair is hosting firms from 23 countries that have maintained diplomatic relations with Damascus throughout the conflict.

The last fair took place in the summer of 2011, months after the start of a revolt against the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The United States and European countries who have imposed economic sanctions on the Assad regime were not officially invited, although a few Western companies are attending.

"We've come back to Syria because it's a promising country," Nabil Moghrabiye of wastewater piping firm Ostendorf Kunststoffe, the only German company at the Fair, told AFP.

"We hope to re-enter the market... and find a dealer," he said at his small stand in the 74,000 sq m exhibition centre.

Two French companies are present: cocktail syrup producer La Maison Routin 1883 and tableware specialist Luminarc.

Representatives of both refused to speak to the press.

Russia and Iran, unwavering allies of the Syrian regime since the war broke out in 2011, were each represented by several firms including agricultural and energy companies.

"We want to extend our business to other regions of Syria," Mortazak Yanji, of Iran's Mabna, which has built two power stations in the country, told AFP.

BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY

Other Iranian firms included manufacturers of cars, medical equipment and home appliances.

"This fair is very important for the start of reconstruction," said Igor Matveyev, commercial attache at Russia's embassy in Damascus.

"It's an opportunity to build useful relations... between Russian and Syrian businessmen." Assad said in 2016 that his allies would receive the lion's share of contracts to rebuild the country.

He reiterated in April that no country which had aided the Syrian opposition should be allowed to take part in the process.

Liberation is so close!!! Dier ezor and Iraqi border are within assads grasp!

Unfortunately Israel might start to make some trouble to prevent liberation and peace

But then the unthinkable happened. Assad not only survived but prevailed. Backed by Russia, Iran and the Lebanese Shi‘ite militia Hezbollah, he has bottled up Al Qaeda in East Ghouta and Idlib province in the extreme northwest and is racing to lift ISIS’s siege on Deir-Ezzor along the Euphrates. If successful, the effect will be to clear a path straight through to the Iraqi border some 30 miles to the east.

U.S. military enclaves may remain in the northeast and in the southern border town of Al-Tanf. But it’s hard to see how they’ll have much of an impact as the Damascus regime tightens its grip on the country as a whole.

His capital was about to be overrun by a bunch of beheading liver eating animals.

He pulled a win with the skin of his teeth

He also will control a swat from Damascus all the way to the Iraq border where his brothers are waiting to form a belt through Iraq all the way to Teheran

Seriously he pulled out a win out of a miserable defeat :wow

Dont get me wrong I predicted this will happen in 2015, but still its impressive to see how accurate I was :wow

I predict Israel will step in and start bombing Syrian bases in the next few weeks.

Assad and Putin will be forced to turn on the S300 and S400 systems and shit will get real for real
