SPURS quietly among league's best as season gets its legs (http://www.nba.com/2015/news/features/steve_aschburner/11/30/san-antonio-spurs-quietly-taking-charge-in-2015-16-setup-for-game-vs-chicago-bulls/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt16e)

CHICAGO — On the night Tim Duncan (http://www.nba.com/playerfile/tim_duncan/?iref:nba:story_page:playerfile) played his first game against the Chicago Bulls, Michael Jordan led all scorers with 29 points. Four future NBA head coaches -- Avery Johnson, Vinny Del Negro, Monty Williams and Steve Kerr -- combined to score 34...

...That same guy scored 10 points, shot 5-of-9 and grabbed 18 rebounds -- 18! -- Friday against Atlanta (http://www.nba.com/video/games/spurs/2015/11/28/0021500242-atl-sas-recap.nba/index.html). Eighteen years, 25 days and 1,585 regular-season and postseason NBA games later. Oh, and five championships and 1,113 victories later too, since that's what Duncan and the Spurs are all about.

Nice read about the Spurs from Chicago's perspective.

I suspect most of the old school sports journalists really appreciate what Tim has done, even if they're sick of seeing him beat their favorite teams.

If you're great long enough, "sick of" becomes admiration.

"Spurs best at beating bad teams, have not won against a decent opponent as season gets its legs"

The league is pretty much filled with terrible teams. There are only 4 or 5 truly elite teams out there. Based off that info you can't take anything away from the Spurs record. If anything its a good sign the spurs are beating the bad teams because last year they gave away games to shit teams like the Knicks. If the Spurs beat the teams they should have beaten last year they would have won 60 games.

They can only play who is on the schedule drama queen. They're beating who they're supposed to be beating and lost a close one on the road to the one good team they actually played.

Some of you fucking people are so stupid.

Spurs almost won in OKC (always a difficult matchup plus KD's return) and limited one of the best offensive teams (ATL) to 37 points at the half and 88 points overall.

Hopefully this isn't his final hurrah. The guy is a tough motherfucker. I'm sure he doesn't want to leave until he can no longer jog down the court.
