View Full Version : Dear SpursTalk...
It's okay for the Spurs to lose a game. Nobody expected them to go for 70 wins, and if you did, you're an idiot.
Chicago is a talented team with a good defense, and it still came down to the final possessions playing in their building.
How about some of you step off the cliff and grow some balls, tbh?

You've been here long enough...it's what goes on. It's been exacerbated some by the re-opening of registration. Now people have signed up under 100 alts and caused more clutter than we usually see.

It's the same people as always, tbh:lol
1. There are no teams in the west that pose that type of size match-up problem like the Bulls (four VERY different bigs that they can rotate out there)
2. If we're playing the Bulls in the playoffs, something else had to have gone right
By the way, Doug McDermott looks like a player. How did Thibbs never let him get off the bench last year?

Just trying to bring a modicum of reason to the chicken littles around here. It gets pretty tiresome having to avoid SpursTalk the day after a loss because it's trashed by a bunch of babies who can't handle a loss and immediately want to find somewhere to point the finger.
Sometimes, your team just loses. Really not much more to take from this game.
It's not like we lost to the fucking Lakers. :lol
...quick, someone make an anti-jinx thread before we lose to the fucking Lakers. :pctoss

I knew we were gonna lose this game tonight. Chicago was well rested. Spurs still are an average team on the road playing against a playoff team, no less.
At the very least, OKC and Houston lost tonight. Pretty much have to accept the fact that the Dubs are securing the #1 seed.

thought it was a good game that's going to help the team.
don't have an identity in the close, late game scenario and it showed. Manu is still favored over Green and Kawhi didn't touch the ball much at the end iirc. LMA forced his possession. Whatever though... it's early and the team still nearly pulled it off. The reasons the game was lost shouldn't be factors later on in the season.
:cry I take basketball too seriously :cry
I never said the game doesn't matter.
It's one loss, and that's all it counts for. There will be others.
Hope you have a fresh pair of panties to get in a wad.

Mostly true. This offense is still pretty shitty, though. Especially now that Manu has fallen back to earth, and Patty and Danny are underachieving.

The loss doesn't bother me, I just hate that Pop went back to the bench lineup with Diaw/West that gave up a 9 point lead in the first half. Obvious we needed size against Noah/Gibson and he didn't put Boban in.

There could be (and are) some crybabies. Myself? I kind of look at what happened and watch the season for adjustments. It's not so much the loss, but what you can learn from it. I don't expect 82 wins, but each games shows me something.
Some games have shown me things about our bench and younger players. Games like this let us know how the team would do in playoff atmospheres and against good teams.
You can diagnose and address the problems, or you will be exposed at the end. So I am sure they will look at film and address the issues.
Yes, on to the next one.

And we shot the three ball very poorly. I also thought that Timmy looked very passive on post-ups., well, really in general.

:tu Bingo.
Spurs are still incorporating a new system and 3-4 new players to the rotation, and are still on pace for 65 wins so far. I know the schedule is going to get more difficult, but there are still 64 games left for them to work out the kinks.

Had Spurs won by 1, it would be about how great the Spurs are flying under the radar. 4 point difference, and we're absolute shit.
