View Full Version : Lakers: Kobe's ego has reach an unprecedented level of inflated.

Unequaled in NBA history, and as basketball fan, it sickens me.

Now that he's officially retired, he's using it as an excuse to chuck away even more (17 fucking 3 point attempts!), and he knows he's untouchable from media and fan criticism because his season is now about "appreciating him one last time." He can go 0-50 and knows he'll still get fellated in the media. Take last game. He was awful. Took a bad game winning attempt, which the media didn't even talk about.

Lakerfan: "Give it a rest. This is his last season. Let him do what he wants. We're never going to see him play again."

"Letting him do what he wants" so fans can "appreciate" him means Randle and Russell lose an important year of development. They were afterthoughts Sunday and have been afterthoughts in this game (Kobe took more shots than both of them combined). Any Lakerfan should be outraged that Kobe's own ego is sabotaging that endeavor.

And media won't say a word about it. And Kobe knows it. There's also no way he retires early. He's looking forward to the city-to-city worship he'll get all season.

Disgusting.

Kobe fans are like women who will forgive their abusive spouse every time they cheat/beat them although they had already impregnated another woman. The men equivalent would be dudes who will pay women to humiliate them & treat them like shit aka betas:lol. Kobe is basically a product of enablers, his parents ex-communicated him, his teammates shunned him, his coach put him on blast, a hotel maid wouldn't let him finish, alpha players refused to play with him. Durant is as beta as they get when it comes to superstars & he's the ones that rides his dick.

Pau/Odum didn't say shit b/c they are both betas but Shaq/Bynum/Smush were alphas who barked back at him & he didn't like it.:lol

And what's sad is they can't express any criticism or discontent, because they have to toe the "worshiping Kobe" line now. Media's questions won't be: "Did you think Kobe taking too many shots hurt your rhythm?" They'll be: "How does it feel knowing this is Kobe's last season? What was it like playing with a legend?"

Lakerfan will come in here and excuse this as a good thing because "Simmons!" but the Lakers can be shit and still develop.

I usually chuckle at a few Kobe threads but seriously, what I saw tonight was disgraceful. Completely ignoring open teammates, taking wild shot after wild shot, SEVENTEEN 3 point attempts. Seriously.

Seriously, though, if I'm a Laker fan, I'm probably cool with this..Kobe is arguably the worst player in the NBA, and Byron is unquestionably the worst coach, you won't find a better tanking duo..might as well let them lead the tank for the #1 pick..it may hurt the young players, but it's not like any of them have real potential:lol

Such a predictable deflection. What use is Simmons (not guaranteed to be a game changer) going to be surrounded by piles of shit? What Russell and Randle are going through is the worst climate I've seen from a development perspective. They're learning nothing this year.

You'd still be the worst team in the NBA giving Randle, Russell, and Clarkson the majority of the shots/role.

No excuse for Kobe, but you're too in love with that piece of garbage to see it.

That's true, but I don't think hardcore Lakers fans are accurately portraying the true sentiment of Lakers fandom as a whole..I would bet that most fans at Lakers games, home and away, are perfectly content with watching Kobe shoot 20+ per game and do whatever he wants during his farewell tour, tbh..you know that he has a rabid cult following, maybe more than any other player in sports history, the Lakers fans that are upset with his performance and negative effect on the younger teammates probably represent a very small percentage of people:lol

I refuse to judge the rooks under Byron and with Kobe shooting 30x per game.

So many possible scenarios for next season (cap space, Kobe retiring, free agency, maybe a competent coach with a system, top pick). The landscape of this Lakers team might change drastically. Right now the focus should be on tanking and nothing else.

Missing the point.

Him giving a "show" all year is going to stunt the growth of your youth.

He should give a "show" through mentoring and helping them develop. You should be pissed. The NBA is an arms race and one bad year of development as a young player can ruin a career. Too many bad habits are being learned.

More deflection. Them not learning shit just makes the implementation of a system and a new coach all that much harder. Why do you think teams that purposely tank for 3-4 years straight typically don't evolve? Philly has been tanking for a decade. Still in the same situation. Kevin Durant was instantly made the centerpiece of the Sonics/Thunder, and guess what, they were still a terrible team, but at least HE was the one doing the losing. They improved by 3 wins the next year, and then 27 the next. They got out of tanking mode in 2 quick years and that first year played a big role in KD's development. The Lakers are regressing. Worse than last year, with the rookies/young players learning nothing except bad habits.

You're just trying to find an excuse to not criticize your boy. My point is you even need him on the team to be a shitty team. Lakers are still a top 3 worse team in the league running everything through Russell/Randle/Clarkson. No chess here. Kobe's just an egomaniac.

It's not about "judging the rookies," it's about letting them do the losing and learning "the hard way." Now they'll just be spectators in the Kobe Worship show every game. Development is crucial in the NBA. One lost year is huge, whether through injury or being stuck in a bad situation.

The only other explanation, is that the Lakers fo knows the draft picks are trash/no interest to develop. Rather the Lakers see young players as an end to the next free agent or trade offer. Once the free agents come, then the role players, and the Lakers won't need youth when they can go back to buying talent.

"17 is to many 3's ... I need to do a better job getting Kobe better looks closer to the basket ... you think?! How about getting Randle, Clarkson or Russell more involved on offense? I get Kobe is the star ... but how is this helpful for the future, the rest of the team?

That first 6 minutes was great ... problem was it was fool's gold and made Kobe feel he could keep jacking shots. Not only is it mostly on Byron Clarkson and Druss need to show the balls to wave off Kobe and be more aggressive but Byron as teh coach should be able to help them with that ... but he sucks.

Good news is we only 1 game out of the bottom spot for Simmons but Yeezus, this has truly gotten ugly. I thought we could win 25-30 We will be lucky to win 13 games at this rate.

When Swaggy is subtly calling you out, you know it's bad :lol Props to him for not toeing company/media line.

Damn. Wow. I mean, fuck. Any true Laker Fan wouldn’t be happy with shit like that.

I can't even :downspin: that shit. We know he retiring, why keep placating him? We ain't even sniffing 3rd place in the Pacific Division let along making the play- I can't even type the full word out.

Love what he did for the franchise, but it is time for him to take a backseat to the kids. They need to all play 35mpg the rest of the season to jumpstart their growth and gain experience. Kobe's 20+ shots per game won't allow that to happen. Plus dipshit B Scott is enabling this shit instead of doing what is best for the franchise going forward.

I am back stateside, but I’m not buying NBALP until next year. I think you know why.

Amen. I felt the same. I am not even sure I will buy tickets to see this version of Kobe because he is doing none of the things he would about mentoring the young guys.
Where I wont go is going back and hating on what he has done and say well this proves he was always this way which is not true. But this shit is horrible.

The battered wife syndrome is not the best relationship analogy ... this is the bad breakup. Some chicks hang on to a a dude that cheats, gambles the mortgage stats out to 5am with the fellas and not call ...but think that things will get better because he says the right things is good in bed is a good father charms her parents. So the shit never ends because he does just enough and lots of women have self-esteem issues. The Lakers franchise is now that bitch and we are her friends trying to tell her the truth but she wont listen ...Jeanie embodies this. She would not let Kobe go if he did not go down in flames. We need it to be this bad otherwise maybe we still have to deal with Kobe next year. I dont like the way he is playing at all.

But the hopefully the end game is Byron fired, the Simmons pick and more fire on the ass of the FO ...Fuck!!!!!!!

He obviously doesn't sense the complete joke he is making out of the NBA games he plays in.
He looks like the odd Asian kid who is picked up as a body and just starts chucking requiring a rejection of that invite.

Just leave NOW, please...

Absolutely true. I've made that comparison before, Kirby is Kim Jong-Il and the Lakers are North Korea. It's why I can't help but laugh when Kirbystans try to deflect blame onto the younger guys by claiming they should be more assertive.

Is Kobe serious right now? He decided to retire now because "he didn't want to end up like MJ." :lol This niqqa really is delusional. It's almost as if he doesn't realize facts exist.

In his last season at 40 years old, Jordan still averaged 20 pts, 6 rbs, 4 asts, and 1.5 stls... On 45% shooting (Kobe's career average). And he had a 19 PER..Those are All-Star numbers for some players.. Kobe is barely shooting 30%, including 20% from 3, and has a 9 PER.. He is complete trash this year. Not to mention he's the highest paid player in the league and single-handedly keeping the Lakers' young talent from developing. What a blowhard this guy is :lol
