Simmons fouls, those are the rookie mistakes that make it so Pop won't play him over Danny ppl.

Chicken or egg? With PT the silly fouls will go down - or else Simmons will go down... To the bench. I think the team needs to find this out.

Not what I was hoping for. I like the Kawhi/Simmons pairing. I had hope to see it tonight.
Pop experiment, trying Aldridge in a small ball lineup as a center gives him film for his defensive rotations and coverage.

Simmons/Kyle are meant to be a future bench unit, both being tested together. Boris just getting his workout, and Mills well.. only real 3 pt shooter there.

Interesting Pop project here for film room probably.

He will likely care more about Simmons defense than the highlight plays. Only his defense will let him know whether he can afford to play him instead of Danny for some minutes at times or for Manu with the starters in the same fashion.

Getting in good position like Lma did in the 3rd is what he'll need to do vs Draymond. It will probably tire out that mouth breather making his 3pt% lower.

With Pop... probably he needs to fix his game and play perfect for a few stretches of garbage time b4 Pop trusts him. I mean with Anderson Pop was like one posession, make a mistake and go to the bench. He is still very much in a short leash. Simmons is terrific offensively, defensively is where he has to prove it. But he will get chances through the season, we are not running Manu to the ground for sure.

I thought for sure Ray could have played some Mills trash minutes all these past three games that we have blown wide open. Simmons emergence has pushed Ray way out.

That means that Simmons is actually Cojo's replacement. Ray's problem is that he doesn't know how to run the offense, also he's too small to defend anyone.

Tim Duncan amazes me. He took 6 shots. But went ahead and chipped in 10 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 blocks.

Such a competitor, values winning more than anything, including his own ego. I've been so impressed with his willingness and ability to become a top-level role player in the league, as long as continuing to be a great leader and star if/when we need him to.

Tbh if Tony hadn't kept us in the game, Kawhi would not have been in a position to lower the hammer. Other good performances along the way, too. Patty looked better, and Simmons and West both looked good in very limited minutes. Kyle was steady with increased court time. Nice win!

Exactly! We are so blessed to have had him his whole career! Amazing!

Did Parker play in the 2nd half?

Yes, at the beginning of the third, but he only logged something like 24 minutes.

Exactly, the Patriots should be privileged to be compared with the Spurs, but not so much the other way around.

The Patriots lost to a team led by Eli Manning TWICE:lol, they play in the AFC East where their biggest divisional rival was a team whose QB was Mark Sanchez:lmao, their biggest rival when they won their first 3 championships was the biggest choker in NFL history: Peyton Manning.

The Spurs played in the toughest conference in in NBA history, beat every team in the playoffs (except the Rockets), beat all the best players of their generation.

The fact that the Pats get a bye into the playoffs every year goes largely unnoticed or unacknowledged. Great summation!

Even though the ring count isn't the same and they haven't been quite as dominant (Mavs), I like to compare the Patriots to the Mavericks. And in their prime Tom Brady and Dirk were cocky trash talkers on the court/field and they've been around for about the same amount of time.

Just amazing how the Spurs can manufacture a superstar.

Never underestimate the Spurs coaching staff in developing players. Lots of folks here keep disrespecting Anderson and Simmons. Has anyone noticed how disruptive Anderson's defense has been lately. Put Duncan with Leonard, Green, Anderson and Simmons and I would be surprised if an opponent could score.

I wish they had won that game in Miami where Pop played with the bench.
2012-2013 season I think it was.

Silly national TV schedule.

On the other hand, just dump it to Kawhi and let him try to score 30 on Barnes.
Miami did the same thing later that season when they came to San Antonio. Heat actually won though

Yep, Lebron, Wade and Allen rested, Bosh played and shit all over Duncan and Cole shit all over Parker. Bosh made the game winning 3. I was going for a scholarship interview that weekend. I didn't get that scholarship.

Hahaha, where do you guys come up with this crap? Here are the stats for that game:

Cole: 13 pts, 4 ast, 1 reb, 2 tov in 43 minutes
Parker: 12 pts, 8 ast, 5 reb, 1 tov in 37 minutes

You guys and your ridiculous "memories"...let the Parker hate narrative go...it's affecting you a little too much. This is almost as bad as the people that actually believe that Chalmers outplayed Parker in either Finals series. Let's be a little bit realistic here.

Was "full ride" to Vanderbilt and I was in the top 32 students; only 10 received it. I was tied for the lowest ACT score out of all of them (didn't take the SAT) but was only one of six valedictorians and the only valedictorian out of that pool to not get that scholarship. Meh
