For the season, Kobe is 84 for 270 on FGA for 31%.
For the season, Duncan is 73 for 138 for 53%

So Kobe has taken 132 more attempts, but only hit 11 more shots than Duncan all year.
Kobe has missed 48 more shots than Duncan has taken.

Duncan Offensive & Defensive Ratings are 110 & 90. That's +20.
Kobe's Offensive & Defensive ratings are 87 & 111. That's -24.

Duncan is even averaging more assists per minute as a Center than Kobe does playing SG or SF.

Won't even mention rebounds & blocked shots.

There are literally no actual fans of NBA basketball that are not already very familiar with the state of both players right now.

Kobe is actively damaging his legacy, while Duncan is continuing to build his, even if it is on top of his Punisher knee brace.

Kobe is getting standing ovations while no one even knows Jim is in the building. And Jim is broke... LOL!!!

You're right...last standing ovation I remember Jim getting was July 2014. He was coming off the court and winning a ring at the time...

Kobe is actively damaging his legacy

People always ignore the dying years of a HOF'ers career when considering his legacy. No one holds Hakeem's time in Toronto or Moses Malone bouncing around the league as a benchwarmer against them. Or Shaq's years in Cleveland and Boston. Great players get a pass for ending their career horribly. Though Duncan's definitely building his legacy by remaining an excellent player in his last year or two.

Kobe isn't dying slowly going quietly into the night, though. He's going out strapped with explosives, taking as many with him as he can. While putting $24mil in his pocket.

There has never been an end-of-career implosion like the one Kobe is having right now, where he is literally chucking his way into being the worst player in the league who sees regular minutes.

If he were averaging 10 points per game on 10 shots, with a couple of boards, that would be the dying years that are expected from most stars.
