View Full Version : Amnesty: Russian Strikes Have Indiscriminately Targeted Civilians in Syria

But a new Amnesty International report released Wednesday concluded Russian forces appear to have repeatedly targeted residential areas in attacks that have struck civilian homes, a busy market, and a mosque. The 28-page report also claimed Russian authorities may have knowingly lied to cover up their roles in these deadly strikes.

Philip Luther, director of Amnesty’s Middle East and North Africa program, said some of the attacks “may amount to war crimes.”

“Some Russian airstrikes appear to have directly attacked civilians or civilian objects by striking residential areas with no evident military target, and even medical facilities, resulting in deaths and injuries to civilians,” he said.

It is extremely difficult to distinguish between Russian and Syrian regime airstrikes, making it nearly impossible to pin responsibility on either for specific attacks that kill civilians.

Are you saying US is bombing Yemen?

US supports Saudi bombing through satellite info, logistics and they even refuel Saudi jets. I'd say that qualifies as US being part of the bombing coalition.

Foreign policy has a great article on this and says US is probably commuting war crimes. Amnesty coroborates that.

Saudis and I think Bahrain are bombing Yemen with American military stuff. Is America protesting?

Did America protest when the Saudis crushed the Arab Spring in Bahrain?

Required? Of course not, but for as much as you crusade for them and against their detractors on here one would think you'd take a family in--if for nothing else then to set an example to your neighbors that you feel comfortable with them around you. Anyone can send a buck to Sally Struthers:lol

I'm not afraid of Syrian refugees, but then again I lived and worked in a Muslim country for the better part of 2 years...and though the nations and circumstances are different, I don't care to waste my money supporting those who have nothing to do with me or my own self-interests.

How about if I answer it? Amnesty international is on my yearly charitable donation list. The way that the state department places families doesn't work like that as for the other line of questioning.

So are you afraid of being attacked by Syrian refugees?
