Why even waste our time with the primaries? It's going to happen... discuss...

Sadly, it says how broken our primary system is if these are the two candidates we end up with (and they will be).

Clinton +1 over Trump in latest poll. Hillary sending Bill out to campaign in NH. Responds to the schlong comment with sexist comment. Don't know if that's quite the response seeing as what her husband is.

Yes, he is. Da playa hasn't even spent a dime of his own money on adverts yet. And if he has to get nasty, he will get nasty. He doesn't play around. That, I can tell you.

Ultimately, the Party leadership will overrule the will of the majority of its members, if it comes to that.

Trump may lose in IA and is not a shoe-in in NH. He's finally decided he needs to start spending money.

It doesn't matter if he loses in Iowa. That was always going to be a tough state for him to win because he's not an evangelical level Christian.

Trump in 2008:

"(I know Hillary, and I think she’d make a great president or vice-president.)”

That means nothing. It's just polite politician speak. How come Hillary was late to the debate stage? Gross! :lol

Iowa is relatively insignificant - not many delegates and too evangelical for Trump to do well in. I'd look more to the big states where even in Florida where Jeb was governor for 8 years and Rubio is sitting senator, Trump quadruples and doubles them in polling (that poll was 6 weeks ago though). Trump's barely spent any money - iirc, it was $216,000 to Jeb's 32.5 millions. Also, the candidates get proportional delegates in primaries before Mar 15? and all state delegates in primaries after. He might not win Iowa but he'll get some delegates and the big states with big cities will mostly be winner takes all.

That's why the establishment is in a panic. He is going to win.

Bush vs Gore made for some great SNL skits, but was otherwise a disaster. Trump vs Cunt would probably be similar.

It's gonna be Rubio v. Clinton. Trump won't get the nomination

It's going to be Rubio IMO, enjoy the Trump while you can...

Ball Buster and StrengthandHonor, why do you think that it'll be Rubio? I was very surprised that Trey Gowdy endorsed him (basically the establishment candidate when Jeb quits) - thought he'd endorse Cruz.

Explanation of Republican Nomination Process:

https://www.gop.com/the-official-guide-to-the-2016-republican-nominating-process/

Based on Republican primary schedule, I think Trump will win. Most of the conservative states' primary (Texas, South) are before March 15 (when delegates are award proportionally) while winner takes all states like Florida,New York and California are March 15 and after.

Because Rubio's numbers have steadily trended upward over the past few months. And it seems like at some point the floor is going to dropout underneath Trump. The Republicans would be better served supporting a more conventional, conservative candidate.

That said.. after looking at my favorite website, Paddypower (http://www.paddypower.com/bet/politics/other-politics/us-politics?ev_oc_grp_ids=791149), Trump continues to trend upward during the last few weeks. I may have to eat my words because it's going to be very close between Trump and Rubio.

The GOP establishment will not let Trump get the nomination. For decades, they have paid lip service to their poorly educated, misinformed, working-class base by offering action on social issues and dog-whistle positions on immigration/race/religion, only to turn around and enact policies that favor their corporate donors. They are not letting Trump upset the applecart. They will settle on Cruz or Rubio and hope that the goobers hate Hillary enough to still turn up and vote R.

If Rubio is the nominee, it will be a close general election. If it's Cruz, Hillary should get 300+ electoral votes easily.

does it really matter who is president?

Yes, it does. I thought the same when it was Gore vs. Bush and look what happened? All kinds of poor decisions including the war in Iraq were the result.

The damages from a Repug Congress, SCOTUS, POTUS would make the threat to USA from ISIS look like Cub Scouts.

As a democrat, this POTUS race is both fascinating and depressing to me.

The fact that the standard-bearer for the republicans was against the Iraq war and the standard-bearer for the democrats was for it exemplifies it perfectly.

hey Boo...Hillary = Rubio

not a nickels worth of difference when it will come down to what they will actually do in office.

Democrats will hold their noses and vote for Hillary but there will be very little coat tail effect. Republicans will still control the House and Senate by a small majority.

Hillary won't sign all the retarded shit coming out of the house. It's her only redeeming quality.

It frustrates me that democrats have a perfectly good alternative candidate in Sanders but aren't supporting him. Sadly, Sanders is almost going out of his way to not attack Hillary and so he has no chance of winning the nomination with that strategy.

It has to get through the senate as well and most of it is not reaching the POTUS' desk.

Free tuition, healthcare and parental leave. Who's gonna pay? Hillary as lying and deceitful as she is - at least she isn't crazy enough to think we can have all that. Democrats' wish should be a candidate who combines Bernie's character/motivation with Hillary's policies - but thankfully, no such exists.
