Al Gore beat Bush to New Orleans as a private citizen?


Quietly and quickly, Gore privately rented two planes to evacuate sick patients from hospitals the federal government had abandoned in New Orleans. Without fanfare, without PR consultants, without the news media in tow, Gore arrived with the planes to personally escort the victims in need to safety in his home state, where he had secured medical services for them. He wanted no kudos; he just wanted to save fellow Americans from dying.

The president has a job do to.. he is not a fireman or a policeman..
He has to sign papers and get money..

Gore did try to help good for him.. but he is no commander of anything except his big mouth...

Is it me, or during some of the broadcasts during the Katrina coverage where they showed him...that he looked so whitish-grey he was like a walking corpse? That was weird...

Unless Gore was there before the U.S. Coast Guard (an arm of the Executive Branch that serves at the direction of the President), he didn't beat President Bush to New Orleans.

Oh, yeah, and if he did it so quietly -- why the hell do we know about it?
