Watching the SAS-NY replay. Spurs up 92-84 with 3:30 in the game when Kawhi gets fouled. Refs give Knicks player a cheap and one driving one on three at the other end to make it 92-86 with a chance to pull it within 5. This is exactly how refs manipulate games. And they have the audacity to do it at the peril of the Spurs home winning streak and against such a sh*** team.

The ref that actually got caught betting said explicitly that when refs wanted to play the betting lines, they would try to do so in the first 8 minutes of games. Waiting until the end of a game to try and change the outcome is about the easiest way I can think of to get caught.

Also, home court advantage in reffing has virtually disappeared under Silver. The league's biggest problem with reffing is that 1/3 of their refs are currently dogshit. Pic related will almost certainly ref a Spurs playoff game.

Your point about the quality of the officials -- particularly the younger/newer ones -- is my observation. Young officials in recent Spurs games have been woefully inconsistent and have made terrible calls by guessing on plays. It's hard to find too many really good young refs.

I don't think Holtkamp will get playoff games this year. The numbers make that really unlikely.

David Stern, furiously masturbating to the Lakers, is dead and gone. Everyone gets a fair chance now.
