they are a train-wreck now..just fired Hollins and lost Jarett Jack for the season and are on 4-game losing streak..The 2nd night of B2B in Detroit is very losable game..Pistons are well-coached and have the 5th best home record in the entire league (13-5)...I would rather have TD/Manu playing that game on full regular minutes, tbh..

They shouldn't, since I'm going to that game :-D

* assuming Pop has a rest plan..Spurs just had a couple of days off..

Tim just rested two games, and played like 15 minutes in the next one before this last game against NY. No need at all to rest him. Pop will rest Manu when he needs it, and by tracking SportVU, they can see exactly when he has exhausted his reserves and needs a game or two off.

We'll see. I suspect unless they are banged up, the vets don't want to sit. Two things can happen. They play something like 10 mins each, the game is a blow out by the 2nd Q and Pop uses the rest if the game to develop players like he did against Utah or they rest.

This.

My guess is the former. Having two days off since Friday's game makes me think that the vets are likely to start this one, though, as you point out, they may just treat it as a warm-up for Detroit.

Our schedule is very light in January..only 9 games for the next 21 days left in the month..So, yeah, it wouldn't be an issue to give them 10-15 minutes after a couple days rest..As long as we have both available for the Pistons, it's fine..

Nets may be motivated after sacking the coach. Could be a trap game.

Players typically play motivated basketball a game before a coach they dont like is fired. Its an away game too. Id consider resting Manu. Just Manu.

TD has barely played the last two weeks. Aldridge just recently restrd and is only playing 29mpg.

Boris might need a rest.

Exactly. It would be interesting to know the win/loss record of all teams the first game after sacking the HC. I bet the winning percentage is pretty high.

DET is 13-5 at home. I'd start everybody vs Nets, but pull them early and keep them out.

I might go, so I hope not. Saw them in SA when they had Utah by like 50 points and didn't get to see the starters much there.

All top 8 in EC are .500 or better this year, while only 6 in WC are.

There's no need to increase the odds of losing a game that should be a virtual lock. Plus, it'll be their first game with a new coach, which means they'll likely play an inspired game.

Just take care of business and depending on their workload in the game, think about resting them (more so Ginobili, since Duncan is well rested recently) against the Pistons, which has offensive struggle and subsequent loss written all over it.

I see the Pistons game as an automatic loss anyway. They're a playoff team this year and I don't see the Spurs peaking on the road just yet.

Just take care of the Nets.

If Tim can't handle Robin Lopez then he's going to get smashed by Brook Lopez :lol so just roll out Boban (perfect matchup for him against a slow footed big). Kyle is also from the tri-state area (along w/ D-West )so let him show out along w/ Simmons who was in the Nets D-league squad. LMA need to play so he can get reps against an undersized hybrid forward (Thad Young).

Jarret Jack is out for the season so no Spurs killer.:toast Ray might even get some runs, he has earned it.

Let's the Big 3 enjoy the night out in BK.:whine

I'll text Pop and let him know that he should do this

I'd play everyone against the Nets and try to lock up that win. Best case, you get a huge lead and rest the key guys for the Detroit game. Worst case, you play everyone normal to heavy minutes and lose anyway. I'll take that gamble. A win is a win.

I was thinking this too. Teams usually play extremely well on the first game after their coach is fired. If anything, this news makes the game at Brooklyn much more difficult than it was originally supposed to be.

My guess all should give it a go..TD/Manu played 22mins/18mins and zero in 4th quarter..DET is tough out home..
