Meh. We tend to stop at 13 game winning streaks, historically. Particularly in championship seasons.

I hope the Spurs and Warriors blowout their final opponents tonight (Lakers/Pacers) before their Monday meeting.
The 40-4 Warriors versus the 38-6 Spurs!!! That's insane! Has there ever been a matchup (record-wise) like this at this point of the season?

The Warriors historic start might play into Leonards favor in the mvp race. If the spurs end up with the best record, kawhi will be the guy to lead the team that surpassed a historic team/reigning champs.

Agree. And I want the Warriors to continue winning (except of course against the Spurs). I would think Warrior fans would want the same of the Spurs. It keeps both teams fully engaged.

No doubt this will be the highest viewed pre-all-star break game in Spurs history. National sports talk radio has been hyping this game for a least 2 or 3 weeks. At least a half dozen national guys have said they can't wait to see this game. Unless Rob Gronkowski kills both Brady AND Manning Monday night this will be the lead everywhere Tuesday mornning. Sure hope the Spurs win so I can enjoy it.

It's pretty interesting how there is no middle ground for a lot of STers.

We're either 1st round playoff fodder or going 40-0 the rest of the way and unbeaten in the playoffs. :lol

I'm in SA, so I'll be able to see the local broadcast on Fox Sports SW. I know it's a regular season game, but this game is somewhat historic, in that the NBA has never had two teams with records like this meet in the middle of the season. You never know, maybe ABC/ESPN or TNT, working with the NBA make an exception and move the game to one of these networks.

Tbh Spurs will lose.

Warriors will set a league record in uncalled moving screens, push offs and travels :lol

But seriously I don't want to get myself too hyped.

even if we lose i'll feel pretty good if it's competitive, the dubs blew us out in oracle once last year iirc

i want to see how our defense stacks up to an all-time offense. let's put those fuckers in jail

Steve Kerr returning tonight, basically in time for the Spurs game but not on that game exactly. If they need some emotional bump to feel secure good for them, they are a young team that needs stuff like that. The Spurs don't.

Lakers-Blazers in 2000 when they were both 45-11 is the closest I can think of. LA finished strong and Portland went into a real funk after the Lakers won that game on the road. It was funny because Phil Jackson hyped the game like hell.

I think it's more likely this first meeting is going to be a blowout one way or the other. I'd give the edge to the dubs on this since it seems like they are the ones viewing this as a statement game. Spurs will be viewing it as another game in January. Whatever the outcome is, the one thing that is for sure is that the result of this one meeting will be way over-hyped.

That's perhaps the only way he wins. Statistically the Spurs aren't really any worse without Kawhi on the floor, and that will hurt his candidacy in the long run. The team's too deep even without him.

Thanks! Surprised I don't remember that game. Did you notice one of the officials for the game - Tim Donaghy. That game would be fun to rewatch/analyze.

We were peaking and really slapped the Warriors around late last season. It will be interesting to see if we still match up that well. Unfortunately, we peaked at the wrong time so I am not all that worried about Monday's game. It would be really nice to take 3 of 4 against them though.
