As long as OP doesn't attention whore himself and start the game thread, the Spurs will be fine.

I came into this evening with a belief that the Spurs haven't been playing their best ball and they were in danger of getting beat by the Dubs. After watching the game tonight against a very mediocre Pacers team, I think the Dubs are beatable, and I think the Spurs are simply built to beat them. I'll write up a breakdown this weekend and post it up, but every weakness that the Warriors exploit is a weakness the Spurs have worked really hard to eliminate.

If we win, will there still be a meltdown? Is Pop getting fired regardless after Monday? Promote Becky?

honestly it's time they bring back handchecking. It's unbelievably faggy that a guy like Stephen Curry is considered the best player.

Hopefully the slow start glitch doesn't appear in this game. GS is the best first quarter team in the league and if the Spurs show up with one of those shitty 18-20 point 1st quarter efforts, we could easily be down 20 in a flash.

I know exactly how you feel and I see it too. This year's Warriors is pretty much a different rendition of the Spurs a couple years ago loaded with shooters. It's surreal but Warriors are pretty riding on a very hot streak (almost the same way the Spurs were riding on a good streak during the regular season 2010-2011). Once they get to the playoffs and the shots don't fall, it's pretty much game over.

I am extremely optimistic about the Spurs this season, but I gotta say, I have the feeling something like this could go down.

GS are extremely handsy at the start of games and it tests the refs early. I can really feel a first quarter of 35-17 or something like that :lol

Won't make me doubt the Spurs chances against them in the playoffs, but I still can feel something like that happening in this upcoming game.

The Dubs are very good, especially on D, during the 1st and the 3rd quarters, almost all the time...

If we stay solid those Q and "exploit" the 2nd and 4th I can see it happening.

Steph just said they(Warriors) haven't been thinking about San Antonio at all." I call bullshit. They are a team that got their feelings hurt when the media and some folks started talking about their easy road to the finals. The Warriors want this game bad.

Yep.. So many years, including championship seasons, have the Spurs' winning streaks been snapped at exactly 13.

It is bullshit because Klay said earlier this week, that their team are motivated by the Spurs breathing on their necks and he called the Spurs a "monster".

If Kawhi and Green come to play, this will be a win. Parker going off would be lovely.

Yep, fool said "we'll continue to play and SEND SOME MESSAGES". Meanwhile Pop will be thinking about bay area vineyards. I think Curry is the catalyst to all this "chip on the shoulder" crap. Just look how crazy he's been all season long.

Actually, I don't see it exactly that way. The Warriors get a few points off bullshit, but it's not nearly as much as people think. They take advantage of mistakes - breakdowns, failure to get back, turnover, bad shots, and that's how they get leads. The difference between this team and the Spurs of a few years ago is that they try to score in the paint and punish you with the three point shot, and they actually play defense with the intent of getting turnovers and then run off them, something that recent Spurs team NEVER did. They just stayed at home and tried to put up three pointers out of half court sets. It was awful.

Pop hates media attention so much i wouldnt be surprised if he sat players after two days of rest to make SURE we dont win. SMFH this franchise only cares about the playoffs (rightfully so, but still)

Threads like these always remind me how happy I am that the Spurs themselves -- and not Spurs fans -- play in these games.

In a lot of ways, the Spurs are the antithesis of many of their fans.

:lol @ people sayng Duncan missing the game won't have an impact. He's #1 in the NBA in defensive real-plus minus and remains the anchor of our defense on the interior.

His absence not only takes away a lot of luster from arguably the most anticipated regular season game in NBA history, it also virtually guarantees a Spurs loss.

Like they ain't played a playoff-caliber intense game their whole fucking lives. Hymen-having pressure virgin bitches! God, I wish Timmy was there to slap the shit out of all of 'em. Only mother fuckers that came to ball tonight were Kawhi, D-West and Simmons. Fuck everyone else. They better sack up between now and the spring because they got fucking OWNED tonight. I hate that bitch ass Curry's face, but he shit all over the Spurs tonight. Fuck him, but fuck the Spurs for letting him go off.
