20-18 with 12 seconds left in the game.
Pats going for two for OT.

Brady scrambles, gets a pass off that is tipped up pretty high by Talib and flutters into the endzone. #29 Bradley Roby catches it two yards deep and runs it out of the endzone. Stop right there.

NFL rules allow the defense to score two points if they take a point after attempt all the way the other way to the endzone. Since Denver was up 2 points, I guess it kinda made sense to try to score thus get ahead by 4 since the Patriots onside kick was coming regardless.

That having been said, do you think it was moron strategy for Roby to even try to run it back? Or, ok to try but needed to guard football like it was his nutts that were trying to be taken away?

My order of prefence would have been for him to
a) sit on the ball in the endzone. Play over.
b) try to run it back like he did but protect the ball.

It didn't happen, but can imagine if Pats somehow took that fumble back into their endzone? :lmao
Patriots actually pulled out a similar greasy play when Marlon McCree of the Shottenheimer Chargers gave up a basically game sealing INT by McCrees glory balling a return and fumbling.
