100% mental errors and driven by broken down sequences of play (credit to the GS defence). Spurs were taken by surprise by a brilliant team and mailed it in. Will not happen the next game and we will see a real contest then. If anything, it showed that the Spurs are still heavily reliant on Duncan for leadership and on court marshalling, particularly if things don't go as planned early.

I don't agree. They played solid D but the Spurs were sloppy as hell and out of sorts. They looked awful. If smothering D means putting your hand in the way of a bad pass, then perhaps you're right. Much of what I saw can be overcome by taking care of the ball and not playing too uptight and nervous. Maybe they were just due for a game like this. Outside of Curry, nobody really went off for Golden State. It was a collective effort. I think the second most valuable player yesterday was Shaun Livingston. He came in and provided a big spark for the bench.

Yesterday's game is one you throw in the garbage and forget about. That wasn't the Spurs. When Cleveland got smashed, they lacked effort. The Spurs didn't lack effort, they lacked composure.

On a troubling side note: Aldridge did not come to play at all. He was worthless and clueless on the court. He provided no energy and looked totally disinterested out there. Kawhi had a bad game. Even when he's not hitting shots, he usually plays great D. Not yesterday, he was burned multiple times and was undisciplined.

The Spurs will ultimately beat Golden State because of their bench and more complete roster. LA needs to snap and the team must be healthy for the Spurs to win a 7 game series. Manu doesn't need to be on the floor more than 20 minutes a game.

At least half or more of those were unforced errors - that was extremely sloppy play.

SA needs to sharpen elbows and crack skulls in San Antonio - I assume the next one is in SA.

The Spurs blew out the Rainbow Warriors in similar fashion late last year. We shall overcome.

I counted 9 unforced before garbage time. The whole damn thing was like watching a Shaqtin a Fool greatest hits, but particularly the Simmons dribbling skills after the steal. Watching that game last night was like being the caboose of a human centipede... it was a never ending over digested stream of ass.

The most alarming one was when Draymond was hacking LMA with the forearm push off on his shots - which is usually an automatic whistle. But then LMA get's call for that soft And 1 on Draymond later in the game. That was the most frustrating part.

Aldridge should've gone right back at Green when he was posting up. Green pushed him around and Aldridge didn't do anything about it. He didn't even complain to the ref. Just took it and looked dumbfounded and sad. That was a bad sign. No competitive juice.
