Phil Donahue is no longer the wimpy talk show host that I remember. Last night he absolutely destroyed O'Reilly. I'm sure if they hadn't been sitting at the same table, Donahue's mike would have been cut.

We need to get this guy on TV more often.

Billy (as Donohue repeatedly called him) started off listing Cindy Sheehan's supposed sins, and Phil was off and running, accusing Billy of participating in the marginalization attempt of Sheehan by the right. Billy proudly claimed that he was "the leader of the pack."

Donohue: Cindy Sheehan is one tough mother and nothing you say or anyone else is going to slow her down.

Bill: That's fine, she's has a right-

Phil:....You can't hurt her, she's already taken the biggest punch in the nose that a woman can take.

Bill, in his infinite wisdom asks: How?

Phil: She's lost a son-

Bill: Oh, OK...

Then Phil plugged the rally in DC on 9/24. Billy wanted to talk about Cindy's radical positions, but Phil went on to attack the war in Iraq.

Billy started pointing his finger at that point and questioned the "cut and run" leftist position.

Donohue then said that O'Reilly wouldn't send his kids to die there, and the frequently masturbating-to-harassing-phone-sex giant head started boiling over, yelling about his "...nephew just joined the army," and, "...he's a patriot, so don't denigrate his service or I'll boot you right off the set!"

Wasn't Cindy's son a patriot, also, Bill?

Phil replied that, "Loud doesn't mean right," and, "you nephew is not your kid."

I could go on, but it's so great to watch and listen to, I encourage everyone to check it out.

Yeah...O'Reilly felt so destroyed he replayed the interview on tonights show and he's got it linked on his website. He whipped Donahue's ass and exposed Donahue for the emasculated flake that he is. Donahue even went to the "Rumsfeld met Saddam" card...what a fucking flake.

Wasn't Cindy's son a patriot, also, Bill?

Yes...but what has that got to do with anything? See...that's the stupidest fucking logic I have ever seen. She gets no credit for what her son did....she's doing everything in her power to demean it, and she stands against his Patriotism. In fact...she sympathizes with his killers by calling them Freedom Fighters...

Sorry, Dan...I watched that episode. This is what you got (from a previous post):

"We're sending men & women over there to die!!!"
"They are liars!!!
"We're sending men & women over there to die!!!"
"They are liars!!!
"We're sending men & women over there to die!!!"
"They are liars!!!
"We're sending men & women over there to die!!!"
"They are liars!!!
"We're sending men & women over there to die!!!"

Did he say anything rational or intelligent? No. Did he back any of that up with facts? No. The whole time he was on he didn't really say a damn thing about anything. Dude is getting senile and is in denial...it was painful to watch.

He was totally irrational, had nothing informative to say, and kept yelling OVER O'Reily
when it was his turn to respond. And you call that "destroyed"? I was embarrassed for Phil. Nothing to do with O'Reily at all....Phil was AWFUL. If you truly believe that Phil destroyed him, you have officially fallen off of the left side of the planet.

I thought Phil did a fine job but the right will never see it.

Phil did a piss poor job of establishing winning talking points and that against someone who I don't consider a good debater. He's an insufferable, incurable liberal and with their ideology shouldn't (and didn't) win debates against someone with a reasonable level of intelligence.

All he did was yell louder. How the hell is that a "fine job"? To me, a "fine job" in having any kind of debate would be to 1. express yourself like a rational adult, not some hysterical nutjob and 2. let the other person have their turn to respond and actually listen to what the other person is saying. That has nothing to do with left or right. I have no problem listening to both sides...but when someone starts acting like that it makes me cringe, and not listen to them anymore.

It's like people in this forum that can't have any kind of adult conversation without resorting to childish remarks and insults.

I'd be more inclined to believe that the anti-war stance is based on pacifism if they would protest the terrorists too...but like when they were sponsored by the commies in Vietnam...they are only protesting one side.

Yeah but it won't be Phil Donahue...

I bet you Phil kissed O'Reilly's ass after that show and thanked him for giving him the opportunity to be seen by audience of more than 2 people.

Too bad you guys didn't think Donahue was so great when he went up against O'Reilly on MSNBC....if you had, he'd still have a soapbox upon which to make a public ass of himself.

Bill elicits nothing from me except him needing to be bitchslapped. and at least his nose will be hair-free while he's spending his money getting his jaw fixed.

So you had one loudmouthed egoist going up against another loudmouthed egoist.

One thing I do not understand is the argument "You wouldn't send your kids to war." It's the one straw man argument the anti-war crowd loves to use. Of course most parents wouldn't do that. But you know what? It's the choice of the son or daughter.

Society trusts individuals that age to make decisions about sex, love, health and career but we can't have them deciding to join the military? How about we just make them get mommy and daddy's permission for everything else they do in their lives?

Why not have Jenny Jones and Springer sit down and debate.

Marcus Bryant

Yeah, her 15 minutes are over. Her mistake seems to be that her handlers or whatever are using her to advance a hard left viewpoint. She's not a threat to Bush anymore. If she had been able to strike a more mainstream cord and not go off the deep end, it might have been a different story.

Did you even watch that interview?

I didn't think it was possible for someone to be a bigger dickhead than Bill, but now I know it's possible.

Here's something trash won't ever get.....

Yelling louder than the other person, doesn't mean you're winning an argument.

Those are words to live by.

I'll agree with you on that point.

I didn't think either of the "destroyed" the other. They just got a bit testy. Every once in a great while, I have to hand it to O'Reilly for having someone on his show that he disagrees with and who is articulate enough not to be a push-over. He is in that way a far sight better than Limbaugh, but that doesn't say much.

I think O'Lilley was blindsided by Donahue, I'm mean, common on, Billy most likely expected the timid, push-over Donahue we all remember from his syndicated show, but what they got was a 60-year old version of Tony Roberts of viagra. Billy didn't know what to expect and fumbled his way through the interview. The fact that O'Lilley spent most of his show yesterday putting his 'spin' on the whole Donahue situation just makes it clearer that Billy got spanked.

The whole point of these talking head show is to try and be as articulate as possible before they start cutting your mic, that's for sure, but you also have to admit there is a 'scream factor' that applies to shows like this.

Combs isn't much of a Progressive. If FAUX really cared about ratings they would match someone like Thom Hartman against Bill O'Lilley.

O'Reilly got OWND by Donahue!

Bill tried to spin it around that he had ass whipped Donahue but looked pathetic!

Bill did admit today on radio that he got awsome ratings. So he accomplished his purpose.

Fox in my opinion is like "Harriet Oleson" of "Little House on the Praire".
You guys who've seen this classic show know what I mean.

I watched it again this morning, for the third time. I've never seen O'Reilly get his ass handed to him like that. The finger pointing and yelling completely failed him with Donohue. Donohue showed no signs of being intimidated, and stayed consistant with a message that is now POPULAR with the American public.

Note the end of the clip, OReilly looks flustered with defeat when he sais, "Those people deserve freedom". It was like that was his last card, and he was just hoping it would beat a royal flush.

What a job Donohue did with him. Like I said, I think we're going to be seeing Donohue with a high profile job in the press pretty soon here.

He had a high profile job two years ago and lasted 6 months, what's changed? Nothing.
Back then O'Reilly had about 6 times the viewers that Donahue had.
Not many can stomach the liberal ranting from the Donahues of this world.

You're right ... that wasn't my own opinion. I honestly do think screaming in an argument and not letting the other person have their turn is the most professional, adult way to get my point across. Maybe next time I disagree with my boss, I should tell her how I really feel. :lol
