Making sure we don't peak too soon. Playing everybody in every combination. Not showing his hand against top tier teams. Experimenting.

I think there are some problems that need solutions, though I'd also agree that there has been something other than a win at all costs mentality in the two big recent games.

And I don't think that Pop is likely too upset that his team is continuing to win (mostly) while having gone right back under the radar for the foreseeable future.

The only problem tonight was the date. It's fucking February 1st, no one gives a shit. The seats were damn near empty for a team with an unblemished home record midway through the season. You cannot play slave rage level all season every season.

These lineups are getting annoying. No set group. Freaking boban, mills, kyle, Parker and west? Um, yeah.

Yep, getting lots of burn for the new/young guys during the games we can afford to - even against the Cavs. The team will definitely benefit in the long run.

This shit happens every year. Pop gets to see what he has in the younger guys, and the older ones get rest. The rotations will tighten up when we near playoff time.

Pop is mad scientist in his later years and sometimes it will bite you in the ass when he falls in love with certain combos. I trust Pop but wtf?

Poop really took that artificial adversity too far last season, 'till game 7 in staples center.

Like the Belli experiment over Danny's minutes. It was nice for one or two games but then turned ugly...and it took Pop many games and some losses to stop experimenting...

:spam: is a good meter as to who knows Spurs basketball and those who don't.

Every year, Pop tinkers with lineups and strategies until March then he shortens his rotations and goes with what he decides worked best in the first 4+ months of the season. After 18 years if you haven't figured it out you are either full of shit or just don't have the capacity to understand.

Pop has got to test his lineups, rotations and players, just as any decent coach would. Also, some of these guys just need to play. It is tough to bring it in practice if you don't get on the court in games.
Many of them will not be seeing the floor come April.
He is an excellent coach and player manager. Still a whole lot of meshing to do before the playoffs. I get the feeling that he wants to know his team's weaknesses better than opponents can and his tweaking gives him that insight.
Pop seems to keep the big picture and the details well aligned.

I think we should strongly consider keeping him as the Spurs coach.
