LMA did well. I'm still concerned with his lack of rebounding. I think Danny Green has out-rebounded him the last 2 games. There is a mindset to it. I would like to see him get 15 rebounds against a decent opponent.

Having said that, his rebounding stats are ok. I think he is averaging 8.5 rebounds/game. But, I would like to see him do more in that regards and decide nobody is going inside when he's in the game. Because if not him...who? Still, he has shown more aggressiveness on the offensive end, which is encouraging. Big games? We'll see. We have a few of them coming up. :)

He's doing pretty good lately tho, and it might not be fair to him to be constantly comparing him to Duncan in my mind. Just can't help it...lol

It's seriously a handful of guys who all spend their extra time trying to figure out ways to flirt with other board members while acting like they don't feed off each other.

Back to your point, Aldridge has always played his best against the best competition. Where did your conclusion come from? This season alone? This season, he's in a new system and has been allowing other lesser players to establish themselves while he learns. I think Pop for through to him with the GS game about how they need him to establish himself. Tonight he went against two of the best defensive bigs in the NBA. Davis, has always been someone he struggled against actually, but who doesn't? Whether you think he's good or not, no one can deny he's getting better and more comfortable as the season goes on.

The one thing I've seen he does struggle with it trying to go through smaller stouter players instead of over them. The shorter player is going to be able to establish position much easier , and if they're stout, they should have the advantage movement wise, but not contesting a shot.

I am not sure specifically on the rebounding, I didn't watch the entire game, just parts of the 1st Q and the last 3 minutes of the 4th... but I would be ok with the rebounding numbers if it meant he was really boxing out the big allowing others to grab a board. The boxing out part is very underrated, and it doesn't show in any stat... that is kind of what they say, rebounding is a team effort.

Edit: also yea, we can't compare him to Tim. There is no other like him. Everyone will come up short. Just have to appreciate him as himself.

I positively predicted LMA's All Star selection would be a massive confidence booster for him. His last 4 games are

25 pts, 10 reb, 5 ast
15pts on 7-11 shooting in just 26 minutes in the Cleveland debacle where he got off to a hot start offensively but I think he had 3 fouls in the first quarter.
28pts, 4 reb, 5 blocks
36pts, 6 reb, 3blocks

4 straight games shooting 60% or better
8 blocks in the last 2 games

When was the last time another Spur big put up those numbers in a 4 game span? The real LMA is stepping up which is huge for the good guys and gives us one of the best 1-2 punches in the NBA. Hope this is the start of something big leading up the playoffs!

He's playing closer to the ring and posting up with a lot more versatility (i.e. using his left hand).

Loss to GSW and Cavs and shutting down his twitter feeds has motivated him enough to work on his game.

The bright side is he is finally playing all-star level. The down side is scoring is now unbalanced with too many players scoring zero points and despite Green hitting 4 3 point shots, the Spurs needed the 4th quarter to put cellar dweller Pelicans away.

I don't mind. The reason why, LMA is actually CONTESTING shots. Doing so means you are going to get less rebounds. I don't want him to be Love 2.0 in that department, leave his man and go for rebounds. There is a reason he has 8 blocks in 2 games. Spurs needs Leonard, KA, Diaw, and West to box out.

And one thing I did notice when the Magic kept getting all those Offensive board, Mills and Green got smart and started to crash the boards as well. Magic only got 2 rebounds once they started to. I think rebounding is a team effort. The fact the Spurs are contesting shots, this is going to leave them open for Off RB. It takes a team effort in that the Spurs guards need to go for rebounds as well.

I don't mind Green out rebounding LMA if the reason is because LMA is contesting shots and making guys miss.

Aldridge is averaging over 10 boards per 36 minutes and has the 2nd highest TRB% of his career...I think he's doing just fine in that regard.

Anyways, he's been great as of late. Hopefully his confidence continues to build and this carries over into the 2nd half of the season + playoffs. Particularly hope that he continues getting to the line considering that's a weakness of this team.

Yes. Spurs still had the best start in franchise history despite it. Finally the morphing the Old & New Spurs system is finally taking form. Growing pains are part of any development project. Spurs experience far less than I even anticipated this year.

My concern is his lack of impact despite having put up a decent number of points. Just look at the game against the Pelicans, he scored 36 points but Spurs couldn't put away the Pelicans until late in the 4th.

This is despite the Spurs shooting 60% from the 3 point line. Just doesn't make sense to me.

Good point against perimeter teams and bigs that play away from the basket, you are not close to the rim to grab the board if you are contesting a perimeter or even midrange shot.

Aside from last year when he was playing with a broken hand, Lamarcus has put up good-to-great numbers in the postseason. Now let's take a look at your PF...

Raymond's 2013 Per 36 playoff run:

Raymond's 2014 playoff run:

Raymond's 2015 playoff run:
