The game-winning plays. the clutchness. the elevating teammates. that Alpha gene coming through. With his MJ level work ethic hes STILL getting better. are we witnessing his rise to all time levels of greatness?

That shot looked very much like a Jordan game winner.

Kawhi already has the hardware that only Jordan and Olajuwon possess, tbh, regular season buzzer-beaters probably mean nothing to him:lol

Also, I'm trademarking Kawhichael Jordan. Gotta create the Jordan design with a huge hand instead of a ball.

When its all said and done no one will consider it a comparison. It will easily be Kawhi.

Please let's talk about how great LaMarcus was... you don't wanna be in a situation where everyone talks about Leonard getting all the billboards and LMA pouting off, tbh...

Jordan would score 45 on a routine "big night." Kawhi has Jordan-like stretches, but Jordan would do it all day everyday.

The shot was definitely Jordanesque, though...

If the system was built around Kawhi, for kawhi, with jordan minutes, he would average 30 a night easily.

I remember when Kawhatty Pippen seemed like a longshot. His development has been amazing.

Any player can hit a game winner / buzzer beater once in a while.

Vucevic (sp?) had a nice one of his own the other night

Hes his own person. Unlike Jordan, Bird, Kobe...he wasnt a scoring machine coming into the NBA. Honestly I see some Duncan there too. Kawhi's got determination.

Not sure he has the leaps for it, tbh.

If he has everything except the ability to dunk from the free throw line, i think he'll be fine.

I did. It was awesome.

I'd love for him to make it a habit, if/when the Spurs need it

TBF he was great tonight scoring like 6 straight points in the 4th qtr.

Jordan's leaps helped him to get shots that Kawhi can't get. If not for that, Kawhi would compare more closely.

does anybody in the league have a better turnaround jumper right now?

Kawhitstorm

I'd say more of Kahtttie Pippen.

Pippen didn't really have a fadeaway, never shot above 40% from 3 & he was an elite point-forward; Kawhi's offensive game is actually like Carmelo except he isn't a chucker.:lol Carmelo's 2013-14 season when he shot 45/40/85 w/ 3 assists is the closest to 2015-16 Kawhi.

Although he played a different position, another player that remind me of Kawhi is Gary Payton who came into the league as a defensive specialist & gradually turned himself into a 1st ballot HOFer. GP was the best postup player & defender from the point guard position just as Kawhi is now the best postup player & defender from the SF position. Their trash talk game couldn't be any different though...:lol

I hate the warriors, but Shaun Livingston has a very solid post up turnaround jumper tbh.

If Curry would not play the lights out, Kawhi could easily be the MVP, TBH.

Not one player has back to the basket fadeaway jumpshots that look as Jordanesque as Kawhi. Kobe is the only one who is/was close.

I remember there was a thread here a few years back on Kawhi Leonard's ceiling, and the most optimistic projections had him tabbed as a poor man's Scottie Pippen. Now we're mentioning him in the same sentence as Michael Jordan. :lol

I don't think MJ is the right comparison for Kawhi, but that turnaround J is uncannily similar.

And we shouldn't be.

We have a fine player but let's stop overrating him like Kobe fans.

Kawhi really is nothing like MJ except for being an exceptional defender and good in the post for a swingman, but yep, that turnaround is total MJ.

Fucking brainfart by the D almost ruined it completely. Then again the clock didn't even start when Elfrid touched it so there would have been that too. I think he missed the layup because he was shocked at just how open he was.

Ya that almost ruined it.

Full court back door play. I think 2 spurs kind of blocked each other. Luckily KY got to seal his game defining moment
