View Full Version : Spurs: When do Spurs fans expect Duncan to retire?

Not trolling here, being serious. I wonder if he will just retire in the off season at some point or just do a farewell tour like Kobe. I fully expect him to retire within 2 seasons win or lose.

After this season? If the knee problem continues to persist etc.

Somehow I got a feeling that this season will be his last.

Manu too

The TV deal is kicking in this summer, so if he wants to make up for the lost 25 mil he'd stay for a couple more.

He's spent a lot of time on those knees, %.

There you go, just throwing shit against the wall, despite the fact your franchise's greatest player has the gay cancer and the gay gened faggot kid to prove just how much he loves the cock.

He's played 38 games and the Spurs are like 34-4 in those.

He's playing next year.

Next year. If Duncan returns, Manu returns.

It doesn't matter. Tim doesn't give a shit what people think he should do. That's Kobe's shtick.

If the Spurs somehow get past the Dubs and win it all this June, Duncan will retire. If not, I think he comes back for one more season.

I'll have to see the proof before I render my decision.

The $100 question. Is Pop preserving him, or, hiding him? I'd wager it's "preserving." He looked too good, too fluid before he was pulled.

If KG retires this year, I think he'll wait. I hope he goes into the HoF on his own and doesn't have to share the day with Kobe and Garnett, though I guess seeing them go out together would be a fitting end to that era (though Dirk would also have to retire or just be ignored).

In true Duncan fashion, I see him retiring after this season, win or lose. I just can't see him going out on a farewell tour like Bean...He'll do a press conference wearing his jeans and plaid shirt, thank the organization, the fans, pop and his teammates. Just another reason why Duncan is the indisputable player of his generation IMHO.

Hard to say but I will say if not this year then after next season he is done.

This is it. I'm hoping he announces it at the beginning of the playoffs, maybe it'll give the team an extra edge. I remember Danny got pretty emotional after we got bounced last year because he really wanted to win one more for Tim and Manu.

Till the wheels fall off. And since he's still the best defensive big in the league, the wheels are secured. He'll come back next season barring injury.

Depends on the knee. I didn't think that was a Pop schtick. B4 the season started I would have been really secure saying two seasons, but I think he's no. 1 not going to leave the team halfway despite Pop saying he would leave suddenly and without fanfare if he didn't have it in the middle if the season. No 2, despite saying until the wheels fall off half jokingly, nobody wants to see him with no wheels out there and he's had moments when he hasn't been right and it was the knees. So I am now more secure saying this is the last one than not.

A HOF class of Timmy, Kobe, KG, and Paul Pierce would be all-time though tbh.

Why do you like torturing fans with the ridiculous way in which the Spurs lost the '13 title?

I think Timmy and Manu retire this year. Next year tops if they lose and Timmy wants to finish the contract.

I guess the more of them to retire the same year as Timmy the better, considering I'm looking forward to attend :lol

But in any case I hope it's Manu and Timmy together.

I heard the HOF is dropping the qualifying time to 4 years. Is that true?

Because I've been tortured in similar fashion for my own catastrophes. I took my torture, waited my opportunity. '13 presented such an opportunity.

If your stint here is any reflection of your past endeavors, you never "took" anything. You bailed and only popped back in when the coast was clear.

When did the Lakers live something like that?

Maybe in '04 when they lost with a 4 HOFs line up? :lol

Never. They never sold our shit.

I've been tortured though. What could I do, but, take it. Never hoping, never dreaming that I'd be able to dish it. Then Magic refused to go down the same path that West, Wilt, on & on had traveled. Got to that fork in the road where he put his foot in the ground and went the other way. Dragged the Celtics back to Massachusetts and left them there, dead in their own ground.

I've been meting out torture ever since. '13 came along and I was renewed.
