So they paid him 48.5 and then Kobe showed up to Dwights "Stay Campaign" wearing shorts, sandals, and a Hawaiian shirt while everyone else wore suits....

Kobe then proceeded to tell Dwight listen to me and let me teach you how to be a champion..be my Tyson Chandler..:lmao...learn from me it's my team....well Dwight got mad and bounced...signed a 100 million deal with the Rox....

Kobe saved them 100 million but they gave him 48.5...they owe my nigga for being so disrespectful and disruptive during the Stay Campaign :lmao

He didn't want to do the work, the sacrifice. It's no fun winning 16 after you've left 82 games in the rear view. You have to love it even when there is no fun. Your payoff at the middle of June, after the 16 are history? It's not that you won. It's that >>>You didn't lose.<<<

Good economics would suggest you subtract the opportunity cost of getting hibbert instead. So Kobe owes back at least twenty wins per season. True, no fantasy titles, but two dozen wins.

So sad Kobe couldn't save you from Nash or d Russell.

We talk about Kobe sabotaging the team but Nash was a good 20% of the fault.

It'd be swell finding out the game plan for LMA's rebirth. Pop has it all in his head and now will put it down on paper, then execute it. Complete makeover, mental, physical, spiritual. Full production, no cost cutting, no cutting corners. He's young enough to fully invest. Enough prime + enough HIDDEN PRIME to be tapped to make the cost investment an easy decision.

This is the bridge from Duncan to whatever is over the valley.

I wish we had this, not LMA for instance, but, the opportunity that you guys have. A boundless view of the future. We only have the past.

You're very fortunate, Midst.

Nash was trash for us but not sure why everyone is so quick to rule Russell a failure. Dude is 19 years old. if we compare him to Nash as a rookie who actuallly went to college for 4 years I think the numbers for Russell are greater. Druss was drafted higher but to me that does not matter.

As far as the Nash trade horrible by any measure but if were can hold on to our pick I feel better about it ...if we lose it ...damn. Nash would have "backdoored" us again!!!

The Nash trade was about giving Buss a team he liked on his death bed. He despised the triangle because it was a slow methodical offense. He wanted showtime style that is why we went with Mike D and blessed the Nash trade. Please stop reporting like you know shit about my team. Dont get me wrong it was still a mistake ... but that was more about Buss than Kobe.

I guess the 50m for two bench years was about showtime.

Keep thinking that.

12 has you fucked up even more.

Lakers completed a sign-and-trade deal with the Phoenix Suns for Nash. At the time, the move was considered one that would keep the Lakers in title contention and, according to ESPN's Marc Stein (http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/story/_/id/8130840/steve-nash-headed-los-angeles-lakers-sign-trade-deal), Nash was only swayed to join the Lakers "after a determined push from [Kobe] Bryant."

That doesnt make any sense. It has been widely reported by credible beat writers that follow the team and was also confirmed by Mitch and Jeannie. But you know more than I do on the matter ...right? Well buss wanted a uptempo team and it turns out the old man was right ...
..."the elder Buss explained to his daughter that the final decision on the hire had been his, and it was not personal toward Jackson. He simply saw the NBA heading in a direction that seemed to fit D'Antoni's uptempo style." and

So Dr. Buss was used to gambling and trusting his instincts and in 2012 something else was true. He was fighting cancer. As he was fighting the disease, he was still engaged in building a team in the post-Phil Jackson era. One of the Lakers hallmarks under Phil Jackson and his triangle system was they never had the need for a true point guard and so they never drafted one and never developed one. With the absence of Phil, the cupboard was bare in the Lakers backcourt. Kobe Bryant and no one else.

Jerry Buss loved Los Angeles and he loved the Lakers and he really, really loved stars, the kind that moved ticket sales, that made people watch. Steve Nash was the biggest free agent star on the market in 2012. He was the one Jerry Buss coveted. What Steve Nash could do with the ball reminded Dr. Buss of what Magic Johnson could do with the ball. Both were artists on the court, Picassos with the dribble. Both were scientists, blessed with three dimensional vision. From a gamblers perspective, Steve Nash could return the Lakers to its up tempo roots. Before he died, Dr. Buss could witness Showtime in his last, sick year.

this was widely reported I dont have to work hard to believe anything. and for the record the LA media is much tougher on the Lakers than the SEN is on the Spurs.

And no 12 doesn't affect me I just posted ANOTHER thread which has Kobe 12th ...if it bothered me why would I do that? :lol

that doesn't make ANY sense ...:wakeup

I only know what is reported. I have seen credible sources say it was Bush's dying directive. I do think trying to help Kobe win was a factor and I think almost every star player at least gets shit run by them at least informally through their agent. I think if Kobe wanted he could have fought harder to retain Pau or Shaq before that so if you want to blame him for those I agree.
