Since we know he's as good as gone after this season to coach some crap team like the Cavs, who should we replace Ettore Messina with as an assistant?

Jeff Hornacek?

David Blatt?

Promote Ime/Chip so one of them isn't stolen away too.

Spurs have been running with one over average for the past two season. Borego would probably move to the big (assistant) chair and Udoka would be in second place. Becky could FINALLY sit on the bench like she's supposed to.

Tim is going to get a gig as a consultant & Becky's fine ass will get frontcourt seats to distract the opposing players. She can also flirt w/ Lauren Holtkamp & Violet Palmer.:toast

Why would they do that when Udoka is the heir apparent? Spurs went out of their way to assure him that he wasn't losing his spot when Ettore was hired. He was also in the negotiations/talks with LaMarcus this summer.

It just occurred to me that if the Spurs win the championship this year, Messina is pretty much a goner, same way Bud and Brown left when we made the Finals in 2013.

Messina might be gone, but he definitely won't be coaching the Cavs.
Coach Ginobili!

Chip finally gets to sit in the front, him and Forcier are ahead of Becky. Pop gave them credit for developing Kawhi not him

They've hired two coaches over him so far. I think they do it one more time. Don't get me wrong; Udoka was my pick years ago to succeed Pop. But I think they brought it Borrego specifically to fill the Jim Boylen role, and Boylen was the head assistant before Messina came in if you recall.

I think Becky is probably getting a head coaching job this summer too.

Could see her getting interview requests and turning them down. She knows she's not ready.

I know you said like the Cavs and not the Cavs; but Ettore definitely won't be coaching the Cavs. They signed Lue to three years, and LBJ is as racist as Harlem Heat aka Kawhistorm aka his other 100 screenames and wouldn't be signing off on a non-black coach anyways.

Actually, she's supposed to be barefoot in the kitchen making Bonner a sandwich.

I'm thinking both Chip And Chad aren't interested in becoming head coaches and they would only move to the front of the bench if they were trying to do so. I think they are more specialist coaches (especially Chip) and want to stay that way.

Becky is only sitting in the back because there is not spot in the front of the bench due to seniority. If Messina leaves I think she moves onto the front bench with Udoka getting the big seat.

In the Orlando game there was an assistant that I'm not sure I had ever noticed before.

He was pretty young and in a blue suit if I recall correctly. First I thought it was Chad Forcier (sort of similar hair and age) but Chad was sitting in his usual spot behind the bench.

This new (?) guy was very involved showing/going through drawn up plays with various of the players.

Anyone notice this person and/or know who it is?

I saw this guy at the NBA All stars practice standing next to LaMarcus. Who is he?

he is also with Pop in the practice video where Pop is trying to defend Kobe.

That's Will Hardy (video coordinator according to the media guide). He coached the Summer League team with Becky last year.

:lol Borrego was a pity hire. He got fired in Orlando, and Pop took him back. Why do yo think he's "over" Udoka? When everyone is sitting on the bench, Pop is flanked by Ettore and Ime.

That''s a comically shitty situation i don't even want Ettore to go and bury his NBA career in.. If he wants the paycheck, then that's different story..

IMO, a retread who is desperate to get back on the NBA coaching map is most likely to get it..look for Mike Brown/Nate Macmillan type of hire..
