When the Celtics knew they couldn't beat you, they'd, in association with Media...talk you out of it. Get inside your head till you just wanted it to end. And they had you. We, well, Magic finally figured that out and he, well, we got straightened out. Took Detroit a while longer, but, they too finally figured it out and got on with their lives.

Ainge would like to attempt that tact, but, he knows better. Now he has to earn it. Uh, uh.

Imo 110-79 End game score in favour of the Cs. Tbh...

Its like a 1989 bmw losing to a 2016 model.

Trolling aside, the 14 Spurs were playing historic ball. Arguably a Spurs sweep tbh

Mj bulls would be an average team this year. MJ would be a superstar and pippen would be a top 30-40 player...probably be number 3 at best and realisticly 6th in todays east.

The '89 Pistons were a defensive juggernaut. They also had great offensive players in Zeke, Joe Doctor and The Microwave coming off the bench. The X-Factor? Rodman. He would shut down '14 Duncan. That's the key. Spay Duncan, Neuter the Spurs. :lol

Danny Green has gone up against monsters like Steph Curry in the playoffs, and made life Hell for them. The Spurs won their titles in an era where the PG position is at its deepest and most talented, beating teams that featured players from prime Marbury to prime Curry. Isiah Thomas presents no unique challenges. Laimbeer and Mahorn would get absolutely murdered on the pick-and-roll. Rodman could be a defensive X-factor given his ability to switch in that regard, and Dumars would matchup well with 2014 Tony Parker. I don't think Rodman stops Duncan, though. Rodman was more known for a versatile all-around defender rather than a post defender, especially in the 80's when he was about 210 pounds.

Here's how Bulls Rodman fared against rookie Duncan:

http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/h2h_finder.cgi?request=1&p1=duncati01&p2=rodmade01#stats::none

16.5 and 17 on .517%.

And Kawhi is roasting Mark Aquirre on both ends. If he could handle Kevin Durant and Lebron James, I don't Mark Aquirre is any kind of step up :lol

Spurs bench also kills Detroit's. Vinnie was good, but John Salley, James Edwards, :lol

Spurs in 6.

That team's roster is actually built pretty damn well for today's era.

Imagine a "Death Squad" lineup with Rodman at C and Pippen at the 4 :wow. They'd kill opposing pick-and-rolls more effectively than Golden State. Or they could employ a Death Squad 2.0 lineup with Kukoc at C and Pippen at the 4. That spacing for Jordan.

They do have some issues, though. Luc Longley and an over the hill Ron Harper might not fare too well today. And their bench is suspect after Kukoc. They probably win 58-60 games just on the backs of Jordan, Kukoc, Pippen, and Rodman who all fit today's game (Rodman's ability to defend nearly every position).

Title? Probably not. Not because they aren't an all-time great team, but because they have some players who were good role players in the era per the rules and style of the game (bangers like Longley and one-dimensional spot up shooters like Kerr) who would be real weaknesses today.
