so what are they saying.

Not as bad as once thought.

As bad as they thought it would be.

worse??

Considering it didn't hit the most densely populated refining areas(where all of the models originially sent it), I'd say it's significantly better than they expected.

Not to make light of the communities it did hit....but any significant damage to the refineries and the country was screwed for an indefinite period of time.

Not as bad.. because it missed the refineries and major city.

good.

God helped us out on this one.

MannyIsGod
09-24-2005, 02:46 PM
Yes, God helped out the economic interests of the United States...

Either way, if you look at the area it hit on Google Maps its nothing but swamps. There are a few homes there, and I feel horrible for those people but for the most part we really did luck out with this storm.

Aggie Hoopsfan

To be fair we haven't heard the extent of the damage in the Port Arthur and Orange area, but yeah we got lucky with it missing the refineries.

I've seen a few clips already....they got hit pretty hard, too. :(

I personally believe God's help in this situation is overrated.

AHF, we haven't seen the full extent and I think Port A, Beaumont, and Lake Charles will surely show a good amount of damage as well as the SW coast of Lousiana, but it sure as hell beats losing Galveston.

MannyIsGod

KSAT's coverage last night from Beaumont was fucking AWESOME. Right up untill the eyewall came in.

Me, too. I'm thinking Mother Nature isn't getting enough credit at all. It must be because she's a woman. Either that or that person in the Japanese mafia who fell asleep on the job. :lol
