3 pointers on the draw and kick are keeping France ahead, but just barely.
TP got robbed by his own player at the end of the 3rd. TP's layup was hanging on the rim and Gelabale tried to stuff it back in and knocked it out.

Diamantidis is showing why he is the Bruce Bowen in Europe.

France isn't passing any more with Parker out. It's Pietrus dribble, move shoot...Diaw dribble, jumpshot...etc. It's like they are a bunch of individuals trying to do their thing.
Solid D
09-24-2005, 12:32 PM
France down by 1. Right on cue...TP comes back in. Passing and cutting starts up again. France up by 3. :)
boutons

both teams shooting crappy, France 39% to 33%, which pretty much why France is winning. If Greece stays cold, France has real chance.

but according to Brewski, Parker doesnt play good in games that mean something to his team.

Solid D

Michael Pietrus played no D and let them score too easily then almost gave it back on the inbounds pass. His brother Florient bails him out with 2 FTs.

Papaloukis does ANOTHER drive-by on Micahel Pietrus. Diaw with a great flush running the floor, then Gelabale inexplicably fouls on a three-point attempt. Numskull play with 48 secs. and of course, Zisis makes all 3. 62-58.
Now it will be a foul fest.
Solid D
09-24-2005, 12:46 PM
TP misses both FTs. :wow
Fortunately, Papaloukis is trying to do it all and he puts up a wild banker and turns it over. France caught a major break there. 62-58.
TP throws the inbounds pass to Michael Pietrus too wide. Noooo.

Papadopoulis easily posts up Michael Pietrus for the layup. TP fouled up by 2. 26 secs left. Yes, nails both FTs.

Papaloukis scores again with under 20 to play. 2 point lead for France.
Rigaudeau fouled with 13 left. Makes only 1 of 2 FTs.
Diaw fouls. :wow
Papaloukis nails both 65-64, France by a thread.
Rigaudeau fouled misses first, makes 2nd.
Wow Diamantidis nails a three to win!!!

All 5 guys for France blew the 7 point lead.
Pietrus defense horrendous.
TP's wide pass and missed FTs.
Gelabale's foul on a three point attempt, all 3 FTs are made.
Diaw's foul wayyyy too early.
Rigaudeau's 2 missed FTs.
Diamantidis' 3 was over TP after TP over-collapsed on D. :depressed

Blowing a 7 point lead with 40 seconds left. Missing FTs. Dumb fouls. Dumb TOs. Playing straight man to man D instead of zone and letting Greece spread the floor and drive to the hoop. TP drifting and leaving his man for a wide open 3. I hope people don't start jumping off the Eiffel Tower.

If you want to be disappointed, be disappointed at Slovenia, who was supposed to beat Germany.

France: We weren't supposed to win this, so....here you go.
Greece: Thank you. The choke job at the end of the game was pretty horrible. The entire team screwed up, including Tony. 7 pts. lead with 40 sec left should have been a victory. That has to hurt. http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/images/smilies/smidepressed.gif
I am more concerned about Parker's shooting mechanics. I watched most of France's games and I didn't see a significant change in his jumpshot. He still tends to open the elbow quite a bit. I guess old habits are hard to change.
