American League East Division

Devil Rays 64 90 .416 26 40-38 24-52 4-6 L1 35

Boston has 7 home and 1 road game left, NY has 1 Home game and 7 road games left. On paper, it looks like Boston has the edge, but we will have to see.

Wouldn't the Yanks technically be in first? They are tied and Yanks have more wins vs the Sox...9-7

they were up 4.5, hardly a big lead.

I never said they(NY) would never catch up.

The Sox have had too many injuries to their staff, for me to ever not doubt that they might might lose out in the race for the division.

After your Mariners sweep their asses this week, Boston will be up 5 1/2 again.

at least have the nad to post when your beloved sox fall out of first too. Instead you disappear. You're such a front-runner, but I guess it's stupid of me to expect anything less from a Sox fan.

Not really, it has seemed that only you and Jim have been total Tards on this forum about your stupid teams... that's what people have been sickened of, he's stating his view as a yankee fan, but also as a fraustrated poster.

Which I agree over.

BoSox take game one of double header today as Wakefield pitches another gem giving up an unearned run against Toronto.

Tied with NY and Cleveland once again.

Schilling (gulp) on the mound tinight in game 2.

it's got me a nervous wreck. This breaking the curse thing really sucks. Can't count on sox blowing it. Bright side is if my Yanks get through the Sox I think they actually finish the deal this year.

I loved him last year, I hate seeing him pitch this year. Personally, I like the guy, but he is hurting my team this year, so I'd just as soon see him sitting on the bench.
I am a Red Sox fan first and foremost, have been since I was 9 yrs old, it is the uniform that I worship, not the player....unless it is Ortiz.....he has built up a few years of good will.:)

Schilling is killing the team.

And as a pissed off Renteria fan, it hasn't broken my heart to have seen him commit 29 errors this year.

Red Sox are in trouble.

I cant help but root for the Indians, and hope the Yankees make it, those two are the easier teams than Boston.

I think in some twisted way, BoSox fans like myself will be back where we feel the most comfortable....losing out to the Evil Empire as the lovable down on their luck Red Sox. The WS was geat, but we are not accustomed to that rarified air, so losing to the Yankees will feel like we are home again.

You do not walk the bases loaded with Manny on deck. :rolleyes

Manny already had 2 hits in 3 at bats with 2 RBIs, it would be stupid to walk Ortiz. Manny has protected Ortiz all year...they are the best tandem since Gehrig and Ruth.

I just see Manny strikin out more often than winning big games.
