All jokes aside, Delonte West is probably off his meds. The former NBA star, who has battled mental health issues in the past, was spotted in Houston, Texas—barefoot.

Reports TMZ:

It’s actually a sad story … the person who shot the photo is a huge basketball fan and said they noticed the former 1st round draft pick wandering around outside of a Jack in the Box around 10 PM all by himself with no shoes.

When the fan approached him and asked, “Are you Delonte West?” — he replied, “I used to be but I’m not about that life anymore.”

We tried contacting West to find out if he’s okay — and even reached out to his old agent — but we couldn’t get in touch with him.

The last we heard from Delonte West, a reportedly suspect Instagram account credited to him was throwing shots at LeBron James at the top of the year.

Delonte West was diagnosed with bipolar disorder during his stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers but it’s his “self destructive behavior” that ushered the 31-year-old out of the NBA.

If you know someone who is in either extreme stage of bipoloar disorder--manic or depressive--the right thing to do is help them get back on their meds or get them to a hospital before they hurt themselves.

Being bipolar is extremely terrible because even the meds make you feel like shit.
My sis is bi-polar and my friend of 27 years is also.

My sis takes meds and hates them, but she can't function without them, unless she wants to turn into the Joker (trust me- she was one scary motherfucker. A beauty that wanted to kill you should you even just fart when she's in her "mood". I felt bad for all her boyfriends. She married 7 times). My bud is even more crazy, but he scrapped the meds because he, like her, hated how they made him feel and turned to weed to level him out.
Massive amounts of weed. Daily.

And it doesn't even work, but it can keep him calm from time to time. Such a terrible mental disease- to not be in control of your own emotions...
And the meds, while they may help, make you feel like total shit.

Damn.

Bipolar is no joke. Meds only allow the afflicted to walk the edge of a cliff. One wrong step and it's back to square one with a shitload of collateral damage.

My bro is bipolar. Shit was mad annoying growing up, with him always having tantrums and breakdowns. Feel sorry for him now that we're older though.

Was a joke - he's just bad at basketball takes, but he's a Laker fan so can't blame him.

Put that effort on the guy ashamed enough of the franchise to take Lakers out of his name, tbh

BET reporting:

The concern for Delonte West is real.
Days after the ex-NBA guard was spotted wearing a hospital robe without shoes on in a Jack in the Box parking lot in Houston two weeks ago, West was bizarrely seen dancing and mumbling incoherent things (http://www.bet.com/news/sports/2016/2/22/delonte-west-needs-help.html) to kids in a Maryland strip mall.
A close friend of West, though, wants people to know that the 32-year-old is receiving treatment for his bipolar disorder and that him seeking help was a group effort triggered by his family, friends, the NBA and his old agent.
His friend also explained the root of West's strange behavior over the past two weeks.
"Delonte was at a facility where he received the wrong medication," West's friend told TMZ Sports (http://www.tmz.com/2016/03/01/delonte-west-nba-medical-mental-treatment/#ixzz41eqkePKk). "He began hallucinating. Because of the hallucinations he walked out of the facility, barefoot, in the hospital gown. He went to go get food. That's when he was videotaped and photographed."
Damn. His friend added that West is currently enrolled in a different facility, as those close to him remain hopeful that he gets the help he needs to get his life back on track for good.

TMZ probably slipped him the wrong stuff so they could film this.

All this over being dumped by Gloria James? Come on, now. Can life really be this bad after having a 8-year NBA career? Time to stop moping around over LeBron's mom.
