It's a good question for the Kobe fans

96-98 Jordan
99-01 O'Neal
02-06 Duncan
07-14 James
15-present Wardell

sure...but I bet if you created a top 10 player list for each year, Kobe would be in some of them.

Seriously. There was never a point in time where Kobe was the best player in the league.

:lol Lakerfans trolling themselves.

Youd have to be a huge hater to not think Kobe was the best player in the league for multiple seasons

Duncan was the best in 2003

Kobe was the best in 2001 and 2002 and then from 2005-2006 to 2009-2010

Is this bandwagoner serious or trolling? I haven't been keeping up with ST's characters, tbh. :lmao

You probably werent an NBA fan during that time if you dont think Kobe was regarded as the best player in the league

There are a bunch of videos on Youtube that show Kobes peers calling him the best player in the NBA during that time

It was consensus among the people that matter(players and coaches) when Kobe was scoring 40 every game lmao only haters think otherwise, usually Duncan and LeQueen fans

Yeah, scoring 40 ppg and not making the playoffs or getting dicked by Nash in B2B first rounds. :lmao

He lead a team with Mark Bryant starting at times (AN OLD hurt D Rob too), 19 year old rookie Parker and Cherokee Parks getting mins in the playoffs to 58 wins and the second round...... Antonio Daniels started as well at the 2 at times. Holler at me when Kobe has ever come close to that with less.

Or are you saying this was a honest and pure basketball take by the author?

Really disagree, most people see Shaq's peak years from 00-02 and he was easily the best player in the NBA at that time imo

Right because players are always right just like last year when they all believed Harden was a better player than Curry :lol. Granted your are a Lakers fan so I wouldn't expect you to have that type of awareness.

The way I see the best player of their generation is...

2000
2001
2002**
2006*

vs

1999*
2003*
2005*
2007*
2014*

* - Denotes failure to defend title the next year.
** - Denotes successful repetition of repetition.

Except Kobe wasn't even the best player on his team 2000-02. The years he was lighting up the league he was either missing the playoffs or getting dropped in the first round.

You're in a thread created by a Laker Fan talking about Duncan. And what about the 10 other Duncan threads on the front page....all created by Lakers fan.

Rent Free.

Call a spade a spade Mitch. There are two sides to the coin.

You'd have to be a dumb casual fan or a Kobe fanboy to think he was ever the best player in the league.

He wasn't even the best player on his own team in 01 and 02, so wtf are you saying?

Why 06??? Because he scored 81 points in a regular season game against a shit team? Bitch, please...He was a first-round playoff exit. 06 Dirk > 06 Kobe, and 06 Wade > 06 Kobe.

By 10, Lebron was already comfy in the throne.
