The Timberwolves are open to buying out his contract. Would you guys be interested in signing him?

Slightly better than Parker but with better outside shooting

Fuck yeah

Chinook

Of course they want to buy him out. They don't want to give him $7 Million next season. Question is how much is he willing to give up to get free and if the Wolves agree to waive set-off rights.

Maybe as some bench insurance for Manu. He can score but he is pretty awful at almost everything else imo. Might not be horrible in a gary Neal type role but honestly I'd rather pass

He isn't an idiot gunner like Neal, he's more comparable to Barbosa.

Not to mention he's a limited shooter. How useless is it to have a guy who can only play one side of the floor (literally)

Yeah, exactly. They don't want to push for a buyout, because K-Mart will ask for his $7 Million from next year. They want him to come to them so they can tell him it's off the table.

He's probably going to end up in Miami probably along with Boozer (if Bosh is out for the season) since they just lost Beno & need shooters but....

Is it just me or does Kevin Martin have almost the same shooting mechanics as Curry, except he brings it from the side instead of from the chest? Doesn't take a lot of power and pretty accurate. Just an observation.

He played well in OKC until Westbrook got injured & he was forced to be the 2nd option.:lol

Dude shot 51% on corner 3s that season on a large sample size.:wow (Danny/Marco/Patty/Manu/Bowen have NEVER shot higher than 47%; only Kawhi this season is shooting above 50% along with Danny during the two Finals runs:wow)

Kinda had a strange feeling the Spurs were gonna go after him, which is why I posted this thread when I read the Timberwolves were open to buying him out. I'm okay with it. I doubt it hurts the team. It might help the team, but isn't likely, but its just a rental that won't the team.

And then OKC dumped him instead of trying to keep a big three lineup ala Harden.

Why practice when you should be at the negotiation table?

Why practice when you should be at the negotiation table?

Because you have an agent and are still under contract?

MoSpur
03-01-2016, 04:36 PM
Its not a for sure thing that he is bought out. He has to show up to practice just in case they can't come to an agreement and he has to remain a part of the team until the end of the season.

Kawhitstorm
03-01-2016, 05:22 PM
Why practice when you should be at the negotiation table?

He needs to stay sharp b/c he will be thrown into the fire right away ala Joe Johnson. Plenty of players get pulled from shoot-around let alone practice when they get traded.

That would really help your position; abandon your contractual obligations to peddle yourself in a boardroom. Yeah the Spurs would love that mentality.

But Kevin isn't supposed to be the franchise player so unlike the answer he has to go to practice.

Duh! What I'm saying is that teams let players that are bound to get traded practice or even participate in shoot arounds till the last minutes despite the risk of injury which isn't an issue for buyouts.
