Seeing as we aren't going to catch the Warriors for the 1st seed, barring injury. What teams are you rooting for/against in terms of affecting seeding for the playoffs?

Personally at the moment I am rooting for the Clippers to win and the Thunder/Blazers to lose. I would love to see the Warriors have to go through Blazers-Thunder before they get to the WCF. I would also prefer to see Dallas fall into the 7th spot.

Would like to avoid the Clippers in round 2, don't really care about anything else, tbh..none of the teams from 5-8 are better than average..

Houston and then LA playing the warriors is ideal imo. Two tough matchups for them. They probably only lose three games at most combined between those series...but the more games the more likelyhood of an ankle sprain

Beverley/Choke-P3 are two of the most dirtiest PGs in the league & Dwert/Blake might clothesline Draymond if they are getting embarrassed.

In any case, the Blazers might slide during the next 2 weeks b/c their upcoming schedule is pretty tough & the Grizz might end the season on a 10 game losing streak.:lol

I'd rather have another crack at the Clips in R2 than have to get through OKC en route to Oakland. Not because the Clips are pushovers, but OKC are sure to run the Spurs ragged. Beating Houston in R1 would be nice, but I think I'd rather the Spurs plow through Portland or even Utah.

I am surprised that so many prefer playing the Thunder in round 2. I think OKC would give the Warriors a harder fight and I would much rather play the clips, last year not withstanding.

Not sure who you're talking about. The best case scenario is to have Warriors-Thunder in round 2, clearly.

I've seen some OKC and LAC games as of late, and yes, as great as the OKC powerhouse duo are, the rest of their roster is kinda meh and their SG spot is atrocious (luckily seems to be not fixed before playoff). On the other hand, CP3 seems to find a great groove as playoff nears, and the Clips roster is getting more solid playing without Griffin sucking much of possessions shot attempts. Best scenario would be facing a less confident OKC in WCSF while having a peaking CP3 and healthy Griffin duke it out against those faggots from Bay area in the other bracket.

First round series would be meh & inconsequential, i don't think any potential opponents there are good enough to put real scare to our team.

My thoughts exactly, there was a time when OKC had our number and was in our head, Ibaka owned the paint and even their bench ala Reggie Jackson would light us up. That time has passed, they are a two man team and the Kingslayer can mitigate one of them. However the Clippers are a puzzle we haven't figured out yet defensively so all things being equal, I prefer the Thunderefs in the 2nd round. Our best defensive stopper really doesn't work against the Clippers, can't check CP0 too light to check Blake.

Look at posts #2 and 3.

Anyways, I'd rather play LAC in round 2. OKC matches up best with GS and while I don't see them beating GS, I think they'd give them the most trouble and Westbrook would hopefully wear down Curry a bit.

I'd rather face WB who plays stupid and cost OKC games than Paul, who's probably the smartest PG in the game.

Dallas to win, Memphis to loose, Clippers to win and stay 4th, Okc to get injured and Houston to remain 8th.

So i think the scenario that best benefits the Spurs is this one.

1 GS
vs
8 Hou

4 LAC
vs
5 Dal

2 Spurs
vs
7 Por

3 OKC
vs
6 Mem

By the way i think it is still early to declare that "we are not going to catch up with the warriors", do not forget that they have played and entire season last year, and that tiredness can affect a JS team a lot, specially as the season wears you down.

Rankings end right about where they're at now.

Spurs can take Portland and OKC. Houston will give the Warriors some problems, and would be nice to see the Clippers giving them a good series as well.

That's the shitty thing about GS being young and deep, especially at PG & SG spots. Even in a playoff atmosphere game against OKC last night that went to OT, Curry & Klay only plays around 36-37 minutes total IIRC. Livingston & Iguodala have been outstanding backups and holding the fort well in stretches off the bench.

:lol damn, SpursTalk is doubting the Clippers and overrating OKC again?

OKC doesn't play defense and they only have 5 players that are worthy of rotation minutes on their entire roster:lol.. Waiters, one of the worst players in the NBA, is their 3rd scorer..they give minutes to Kyle Singler..

Their only matchup advantage vs. the Spurs is Russ, and he could be just as likely to be a cancer as as a mismatch..

Neither OKC or the Clippers has any chance against the Warriors, so I'd rather get the easier matchup for the Spurs..

Clippers have serious matchup advantages over the Spurs, clearly..Paul, Griffin and Redick are unguardable for SA, and even their terrible bench has given the Spurs problems..

$pursDynasty
02-28-2016, 12:40 PM
Harlem, I don't get Redick is so energized against us running full tilt thru three screens to get an open shot, but again st the dubs I didn't see 1/3 that effort or aggressiveness. Clips are the Spurs 2nd worst match-up. Because the KingSlayer can check LBJ and KD

The Memphis team out of all those teams is by far the worse playoff team. The only thing I worry about Memphis is dirty play with Barnes,Allen,Randolph,Anderson, lance. But to be honest with u is I don't think Memphis players play that shit against coach pop, Duncan and the Spurs, theirs too much respect. I know Randolph wouldn't do shit because he has to much respect for Duncan but other guys who knows. All I know is Memphis would start shit vs Clippers and warriors for sure. If I could do the match ups for each rd it would be like this. GS VS PORT, SAS VS MEM, LA VS MAVS, OKC VS HOU
SAS WOULD BE THE ONLY SWEEP IN THAT RD. LA VS MAVS WOULD GO 6 games or 7 games I'm guessing plus with the bad blood between Jordan and the mavs would be what NBA wants. Here's my list of the teams I want GS to play before us.
1. Portland
2. Utah (don't count these guys out) I just worry about their back court play but man Gobert, favors,Hayward could be problems down low for them, plus Utah isn't easy to win in.
3. Houston- I would've said 2 but I think to much drama on that team with harden vs Howard vs team ball. Maybe they can flip the switch on, plus Howard wants a big contract. So will play like a monster.
4. Memphis- just because of the dirty players then have.( there will be techs flying and ejections in games) Book it! If steph or dray showboating which they will because they do it every game pretty much. barnes, Allen,Anderson,Randolph and lance that will make u dance. Lol....yeah I know gasol out but Conley could work steph for some mins.
5. Dallas - just because they got a great coach Carlisle and who knows what he has up his sleeve with dirk,Wes,parsons,d-wil. Plus what Carlisle did to LeBron to win first title for dirk was unbelievable and didn't think it was possible but it happen. Yeah I know dirk was younger and playing out of his mind but who knows. Dirk right now is playing real, real good. Plus they could have pay back back in 2007 getting upset by GS( we believe) and do it to this team. That would be great year and there championship if that's all they won.
