Curry gets the ball with about 4 seconds left.
The defender actually turns around and runs the other way.
By the time he recovers and turns back around, he's left Curry an 8 foot cushion to gather and launch!

As opposed to dogging Curry the second he hit the half court line.
I know the defender had to be careful not to breathe too closely, hence be rung up for a foul on Golden Boi.

Yes, Currys shot was yet another incredible 28+ foot shot.
All the more reason on this play to blanket the little phuk the second he hits half court. 3 seconds to go!

I mean for f's sake, that is pathetic game ending defense.

28+ foot shot? That's a bit modest even with the plus sign distinction. Try about 42.

There's no defense for guys pulling up from almost 40 feet... say what you want but there just isn't.

He's hitting 28+ at some incredible historical %.
All the more reason to have dogged him the second he hit half court.
The OKC defender looks like he is lackadsical/slacking.

BTW Curry shot was 38 feet.

I agree that the defender was incredibly stupid. Even just a little pressure probably alters his shot just enough at a minimum for the miss at that range.

When you know that a guy is operating with only two seconds to get off a shot, you got to apply pressure or at least appear to be in position to apply pressure. That defense was a gift. Curry knew he had the open shot.

Poor defense and planning on multiple occasions. Donovan is a short timer. The Klay Thompson corner 3, uncontested. The Klay lay in with no one even challenging him. That stupid heave by Durant to basically no one (odd that Klay just scored and stole the ball at the other end. Shows who was hustling). Durant having the ball on the OoB play to begin with, he's not a point guard.
