Can't doubt Kawhi and LmA like that.

Manu had to bust his ball, so these two would find theirs... Early season too much reliance on Manu. Once he gets rolling we are ready.

(Except Diaw 2.0 that is a concern)

I wonder about that. With a perimeter lineup such as this, much of Butler's minutes could have been his, just slide Kyle to the 4.

I am unsure on that and don't want to jump the gun on him. He looked timid last game, and had been playing poorly for a while.

I doubt they waive Butler at this point when Diaw is ??? missing? and Kyle is still just 22 yrs old with holes in his game, and Pop is relying on Butler so much.

I don't know.

No more open shots once the Spurs started switching the P&Rs. The Pels really didn't go to Davis after the switch either. Big adjustment from the first half.
I have mentioned this elsewhere, we are switching a lot more this season than previously. I believe Diaw/Simmons don't do well on switches. Diaw has lost the ability to guard guys in the perimeter he used to have, at least at a high level, and Simmons two things (1) doesn't switch quick enough, he continues to stick to his man, thus he can't execute well; (2) when he does switch he ends up fouling the big somehow, boxing him out.

I could be blabbering... by no means I am being authoritative on this, but I have observed this over several games (not just this one).

Yup, the switching has definitely been a prominent change this season. I haven't watched Simmons that closely but Boris has been giving up penetration left and right. I hope it's just a matter of getting in slightly better shape and being more focused. Right now Pop doesn't seem to trust him at all against small ball lineups.

I hope it's just a matter of getting in slightly better shape and being more focused. Right now Pop doesn't seem to trust him at all against small ball lineups.
I have watched Simms closely since he's a player that interests me.

He has a singular focus on his mind defensively, to stick to his man. In that endeavor he's so adamant that he makes mistakes. Doesn't realize that the pass was coming until its made. It could be a rook mistake, game too fast for him at this point. It seems easy for us to say, but since he plays guys so close, you make the mistake precisely of overplaying guys.

He's also so athletic that I am sure in the lower leagues he was able to compensate on things like that with his athleticism, but he can't now so its an adjustment to make reads quicker and quicker decisions. He's a rookie so it's to be expected that he would struggle some.

Diaw is really just slowed/overweight. This postseason is important for him. I am sure with his personality he will be happy no matter what, but if he can no longer be the human mismatch bc he cannot guard perimeter players like he used to, he will stop being as useful as he's been. That is a sad day. He's been one of my favorite players b4 Kawhi/LMA ascendence to greatness. Diaw conquered me as fan WCF against OKC in 2014 and I still enjoy watching him play.

Cliffjumping for life imo. FWIW, I still don't see this team getting past the second round...

2nd seed is locked up ... Spurs have not lost a o home game yet ... they will get to the WCF if healthy.

Last time he was "all in" he didn't hesitate to bench Porker.:lobt2:

Had nothing to do with what I was saying, but yea. PARKER struggled, but it's not like he's our only starter to struggle in a game this year.

I meant he was all in by putting Kawhi/LMA back in earlier than he usually does, and playing them bigger mins, even on a b2b.

This is why Mills is so important against OKC and the Warriors. Spacing and his three point shooting. Glad to see Mills play well.
It's true. When we beat GS in the playoffs in 2013, Mills almost averaged 1 PPG and typical lousy Parker only went for 23/6/5.

It was even worse against OKC as Mills went crazy for 4/2. Of course Parker laughingly only went for 13/5/2.

If we want to beat them this year, who knows? Mills might have to go for 5 PPG. He might even make 2 shots in the 4th quarter of one of the games like Claxton did.

Wow I didn't even realize they were the only 3 to score in the 4th quarter

Tom Penn on ESPN has an interview, talking about the "new big 3" Kingslayer, LMAlpha and Peppermint Patty being better than the original. Stats guys are blasphemous because until the new ones start stacking chips like the originals this is a stupid thing to assert. There is a life beyond just numbers, smdh.
