Despite 'ships in '07 and '14... 2005 was the last Spurs team that could win these type of grind-it-out, must-get-clutch-stops, must-make-clutch-plays, must-grab-clutch-boards, must-make-clutch shots road games, especially on B2B nights. Of course, we won those in the second half of 2003 as well. But that 2005 team was something else... Kawhi this year is looking like 2005 Manu on offense + 2005 Bruce on defense. It's a joy to behold.

The Spurs are just doing what they're supposed to do. No big surprises. Only need 18-3 the rest of the way to get 70 wins on the season.

It has a lot to do with how bad the rest of the league is outside the top few teams (everyone knows who they are). Barkley was right, the majority of the NBA is pretty bad

Kawhi and LMA took over the game late. Aldridge looked happy posting up Davis.

It's funny how everyone on here was losing their minds on having lma/Kawhi take over games because we needed the "system" to win..

You need the system when you don't have players who can create on their own. It's a luxury to have those type of players, because the system can be planned for.. but you cant stop a great player from being great..

That was a game most of our teams, even some of our title teams, would have lost.

They gutted it out. You need those wins.

They just hung around until NO got comfortable then stuck a dagger in their back.

I disagree strongly, usually this team has always lost 2 kind of games.

1 against shitty teams in a night where they shoot 60% and we shoot shit.
2 Against a good team after being up by a lot.

These 50/50 chance win games have been a problem in the past, around 2011, but have not been since.

This team is on pace for the second best record of all time. And yet this forum cliffjumps when we get behind in a game and calls for roster changes. It's honestly difficult to come up with analogies of how silly that is.

You would think I would be lying if I said that we could be on a 14-peat with Duncan and Parker starting and Manu coming off the bench and there's decent possibility people are calling for roster changes.

These shit takes have lasted since 07-07-2015. Despite never having a good take you continue to grind them out. When the time comes you make a double-sided must-grab-both-cheeks and squeeze one out on the board. A true grinder, growler, and steamer.

Best start in franchise history. 17 50 win seasons. And, they just aren't winning GOOD ENOUGH for you.

I love you, man.

True. I remember what a cakewalk Game 6 in 2014 at OKC was and how that Spurs team didn't have to grind out that win with clutch shots or clutch plays on the road.

Or the way the Spurs couldn't make the plays they needed to win Game 1 of the 2013 Finals in Miami because they just couldn't come up with big shots or big plays in the clutch.

Or the way the Spurs were ground down in Memphis in Game 3 of the 2013 West Finals and just couldn't come up with the plays that they needed to win that game.

Keepin' it real

The absolute worst poster on ST showing out once again. Congratulations, UNT.

The team has had countless games like this both won and lost since before 2005. I would expect a terrible poster like you to think they've "never" won a game in this manner and of course be completely wrong.

This was brought up on a radio show, I FIRMLY believe it is time the NBA gets rid of conferences in the playoffs. The East conference playoffs will be borderline un-watchable this season.
