one of the most overrated executives in league history..For near half decade, he never figured the right role players to surround KD/Westbrook or who should be coaching them..And now the window is shut...IMO

Thunder could easily upset the warriors in the second round of they fall to 4.

Meh.

Yeah, this season is not a wrap. The Thunder could very well upset the Warriors in the playoffs. See Clippers-Spurs last year.

The window IS shut. The owners are cheap and losing money hand over fist in this economy so Presti's hand has been tied in a few instances. Still, he blew his load on guys like Waiters and Kanter.

The team has an out in its lease after next season, but it's based on trailing two years income so they're probably okay. But four years from now the team is DEFINITELY gone the next time their lease has an out clause. Have fun with Cam Payne and Enes Kanter as your stars, Seattle.

Edit...I meant that..

Doesn't look good for them because the future is bleak from an existential dimension..Durant bolts and they are a proverbial backwater team instantly..

The only way the Thunder could upset the Warriors is by playing sad music at the half.

They could easily upset them in one game. Not four.

They WILL shorten the rotation but that doesn't help the fact that Donovan insists on playing Waiters and Foye. More Westbrook/Durant minutes in postseason should mean more minutes for guys like Morrow (NO shooting elsewhere outside of KD). Singler acquitted himself well this game. Adams and Ibaka in the post had some success.

They are some bad karmic vibes with this organization. First the death of Monty William's wife and now the suicide of the minority owner. I get the feeling Durant will be gone this summer and Westbrook will follow the next summer. This team should have never been in OKC in the first place. It wouldn't surprise me if this team relocates like you said within a few years.

If you think parts of the Texas economy have been hit hard by low energy prices, you haven't been to Oklahoma - only the deserted Williston Basin (where no companies are headquartered anyway) makes it look inspiring. While Texas at least has some solid oil and gas areas like the Permian and Eagle Ford, Oklahoma is a dead zone outside of some people who struck gold in one area. Yes, average joes may keep their jobs as the OKC economy is somewhat diversified, but there will be a lot less disposable income at the top. Layoffs in oil and gas impact the rest of the city's economy too.

McClendon, regardless of what he did - and some of it was pretty bad, did help usher in the fracking era which helped the US realize a ton of untapped fossil fuels and provide for energy independence. While he and others got very rich, cities like OKC reaped the benefits from rejuvenated downtowns to stronger economies to better schools and they were quite involved in the community.

A place like Seattle never deserved to lose its team, but it is pretty remarkable that OKC went from a total dump to a pro sports city. They don't deserve to lose their team, but things aren't looking up.

Possible since the Worriers have an injury prone PG/C ala Shitter/Porker.
