The amusing thing is the identity of the third member of the "new big 3". Watch the video to find out.

It's really, in my opinion, more a "New Big 2" + "An Old Big 3" + "Some very good role players."

Hey, but it works! :bobo

Could see if it he can get some consistency. Patty has been shooting well lately, but he hasn't been that good for the year. At 27, he's probably not going to develop much more, but he should have another 4-6 years at this level, which is more than LMA has at his level. It's critical that the Spurs find a third guy closer to Kawhi's age to be that guard, though. Would be nice if it were Clarkson next off-season, but by 2018, it must happen.

Haven't watched the vid and I don't agree with the premise of Mills being part of a "big 3"...but it's worth mentioning that the best 3-man unit this year has been Mills/Kawhi/Aldridge.

Mills/Kawhi/Aldridge = +21.5 net rating

The Mills/Kawhi duo has a +25.8 net rating, the best on the team for any 2-man unit.

Amazing to see this happening before our eyes. Would be great to somehow convince Durant to come here next year.

Justifies my thought process discussing w/ a friend that Spurs should stagger Parkers' minutes w/ 2nd unit. Start TP, sub him out for Mills at 7-6 minute mark then sub TP back in at end of 1st to run w/ 2nd unit. Start TP in 2nd quarter and finish the quarter with Patty.

Patty is just a better overall fit with leonard and Aldridge. Moves the ball better, and ultimatley doesnt try to win games by himself.

Yeah, tell me about it. I thought maybe Green would be mentioned but he is off this year and honestly a role player although his 3 and D skills are huge (If he is hitting that is). I am shocked it was Patty, he is instant O off the bench and a volume shooter but not part of a so called big 3.

Allows to run through Kawhi or LMA as post presence because he can hit the 3 when doubled or he gives space because his defender can't help defense. He also defends better than Tony. :lol

What's the deal with Clarkson this summer? I know he was a second rounder. Does that mean he is a RFA? Seems like the Lakers would just match any offer for him.

Clarkson is an Arenas RFA this summer. So his max would be in the neighborhood of $56M/4. For the Spurs, that would be a very reasonable $14M flat APY. For the Lakers, it's like $5M/$5M/$22M/$23M. So they may not match.

Patty Mill's pick and pops are Curry-esque; he doesn't need much space to get the good look and the shot off at all. That's why I always thought Patty would match up well if Curry were to guard Patty Mills.
