Kmart has never made a clutch basket to save his life. Ferrari would eat a tortellini while making a game winning 4 pointer. :rolleyes biggest sack in the team

Boy you all are in for a dissapointemnt :lol

I don't know that he's much better or worse, but doubt the chasm is as wide as Raven believes. I wonder what Beli did to Raven IRL.

They are similar players being asked to provide buckets and nothing more. Good signing - hope Martin plays as well from the start, if not better than Belli did at the end of his spurs run. good signing

He shot .42% from 3 in OKC. He averaged 14 ppg on 10 shots.

Nothing spectacular but not terrible either. You don't get many shots if you are the 3rd option behind westbrook and durant.

He averaged about 20ppg before and after okc in 2012-13.

Not saying he is that good now, but he is not a scrub either. He can shoot the 3. Not a great 2pt shot.

Less than 1% from the arc is pretty bad. Keep Bonner, tbh.

Yeah, others beat me to it. He was a fine bench scorer on an elite team. He shot more 3s at a higher percentage than he had before or since. I'd imagine that his performance in that role was a major selling point for the Spurs.

Beli sucked ass on defense, so that comparison is an easy one to jump to. I'd be happy to see Kmart playing with that European bbiq and complimenting manu, patty, and bobo like Beli had at least... obviously don't expect that for multiple reasons.

Don't remember him at OKC, but expectations to replace Harden.... that's a pretty unrealistic thing to expect of him.

Martin can get his shot off more quickly, and never really has played on a team that can move the ball to the open man. He will excel with the Spurs.

Probably with hater on this one. The guy does not have the reputation to be clutch, quite the opposite, he looks for the foul too much and when that dries up in the playoffs his scoring takes a dive.

Kevin Martin has made 6 game winning shots .429, the same number as Manu .286 and Parker .375. Unable to determine Marco's but we know it is less than 4.

Dude these stats are so old. The point is you can't tell unless he joins the Spurs, so just sit back and see what he can do before jumping to any conclusions and cliff jumping. At this point just know that Kevin Martin is a big upgrade compared to Matt Bonner, who hasn't even been playing... so yeah.

His actually game isn't like Marco but he'll have a similar role & plays the same position.

If you look at his game it very similar to Lou Williams who was 6th Man of the Year last season with Toronto. They both shoot from everywhere on the court & draw a lot of fouls b/c of their weird release/drifting movement on jump-shots/floaters. The difference is that Lou is 6'1" & plays a quasi PG role thus has less assisted shot attempts than K-Mart who plays off the ball similar to Marco.

Folks have tried to compare him to Crawford who basically scores on isolations or Marco who rarely gets to the line & doesn't utilize floaters. Neal is closer to K-Mart than either one of those guys but Lou Williams is his midget clone.

I just look forward to him pissing off opponents with his expert level ability to draw BS fouls.

Hope that part of his game is on point for us.

Ironically signing him is exactly what we want KL to be able to do - get to line and control pace.... Awesome signing. If he lingers around the three point line he probably shoots it better than green, if he takes it to the rim he gets to the line. Just hide his weak ass on defense.

Panic signing, tbh. Not worth getting rid of Butler for this guy. I'd rather have Bonner than not, but I could live with him getting cut.

Not a panic signing at all - Warriors blow at defense and Spurs need to keep the pedal down. He's better than Green and Mills on offense.

Well, you explained the panic. The Spurs trying to beat the Warriors at their own game. How do you think that'll work out?

Warriors give up a lot of points - Spurs have issues in the past closing out due to not getting a bucket when needed, and not getting to the line. This is something I have been complaining about for years. This type of signing was something that was needed several years ago. Get a player that can get to the line or shoot the three. Plus - Spurs get rid of Bonner. No matter how Martin performs there will always be that piece.

Agree with the second part of your statement, but not so sure how current stats are "so old".

The data sample is from 2003-2009...

"Data sample
Regular Seasons: '03-04, '04-05, '05-06, '06-07, '07-08, '08-09 (thru 2/4)
Playoffs: '03-04, '04-05, '05-06, '06-07, '07-08 "

Also if the list includes players includes the likes of Ben Gordon, Rishard Lewis, Ricky Davis, Steve Francis, Michael Redd, etc... you know it's an old list LOL

remember when we were debating about regular season minutes . turns out putting a dleaguer in marco's place returns about 10-15 wins more and a lot of minutes less played by the big 3.

Martin urinated himself in the regular season so Spurs didnt even get to see him urinate in the playoffs. Unfortunate. Spurs needed a scorer.
