Needless to say Marcos best years are his SAS years... I think that is a positive

KMart from 10 and 11 years ago? :lmao

no, not if you check out his stats. His stint with Minnesota has been the pits, for sure. But he was effective in OKC. He was effective in Houston, and he was effective during his SAC days. His Timberwolve stats bring him down, sure, but that is a similar story for Marco; lower stats every other stop - look at him this year. His best days were when he was with the Spurs.

The point is, Martin has had better career than Marco. They are a similar type of player, and Marco had the most success with the Spurs. If the same holds true for Martin, with success in SA, then it would be a nice addition.

Martin will be a mismatch as the Nth option. Hope it works out for Spurs.

He's gong to the best franchise in the NBA - if he's had successes with the other terrible places - no reason he can't in SA.

- is this just upsetting since Jimmer didnt get the recall to SA?

i'd take martin over marco. easily tbh.

Martin's best days are behind him. If he plays the Kerr or Chalmers role, then fine.

I mean, it's all about how much does Martin have now in his tank and is he a good fit now that he's on a good team? His career? Of course he's been better than Marco. But for now, what we have to hope is that Kevin today has something left in the tank - at least as much as Marco did last year.

Hes a career 17 ppg scorer - I agree his best days are behind him, but man, what a potential to have getting a guy who can knock down a long ball or get to the rim. Time will tell.

yeah, his best days are behind him. averaged 20 ppg last season though.

per 36 he's averaging 17.9 this season.

I haven't followed him. I just assume he's washed up.

Sounds great, tbh. Though, we could've had that with Jimmer; and somehow, people didn't like that.

Unfortunately there is a 133 page Jimmer thread out there showing that he is completely serious. :lol

Pretty sure it's the same guy. Tim and Manu from 10 and 11 years ago, same for Tony as well.

Knew he gets to the line quite a bit, but that free throw rate is crazy. There are times the offense isn't working and you need someone who can draw FTs. But does that translate to the playoffs?

That's it right there. If kl could get that, he'd be unstoppable. Here's to hoping martin can bring the goods

LOL if Kevin Martin was averaging 20 points per game last season how could he be washed up? It's clear that Kevin Martin wasn't in the Wolves rebuilding plan, which is one of the main reasons the Wolves consistently suck every year despite great talent - they let the rookies and young players dominance court presence. But I digress. Wolves gave up so many minutes to Wiggins that Kevin Martin had to be bought out (they couldn't trade him because of his contract, and his stats weren't good enough this year to warrant any team picking him up).

I actually expect Kevin Martin to be better than Belinelli in the Spurs role offensively tbh. It's just his defense that's in question.
