At home tonight to face a 32-30 Bulls team that has lost 10 of its last 16 games, but are coming off b2b home wins against the Rockets and Bucks. Everyone is expected to be available tonight, as Tony is listed as Probable. Hopefully K-Mart makes his first appearance in Silver and Black tonight as well. Pop is back on the sidelines tonight too after a 2-game hiatus. Jimmy Butler is out for the Bulls. Game will be nationally televised on TNT. No excuses. Let's get it.

but that doesn't fit the Dubs narrative that the media is spinning. Here is a guarantee if our home streak continues and the Dub's one ends, the home winning streak won't be such a popular topic over at ESPN. Sort of how everyone loved talking about the point differential when the Dubs had it but now it is just a footnote now that we have owned if for some time now. :stirpot:

How did the Spurs get a higher percentage?
The Basketball Power Index (BPI) is a team rating system that accounts for the final score, pace of play, site, strength of opponent and absence of key players. BPI can be used to measure both how well a team has performed (going far beyond just wins and losses) and how powerful it is likely to be going forward.

:tu I agree, we would most likely sweep the Mavs. The Rockets are terrible, but they might have some talent to at least one game. Lilliard would average 30-40 a game against the Thunder and could win a few games. Clippers would win their series also, but they would be guaranteed to play the Warriors. If only Marc was around that could be a good matchup.

Tony looked good..but this heavy reliance on Kawhi/LMA is worrying me..the increasing shooting inconsistency of Green/Mills doesn't bode well for the playoffs..And it is maybe time to consider the theory of Diaw falling off cliff because of decline..simply unplayable..
Still plenty of things to iron out, but we need to play better than this level against OKC to get a win..
Last night LMA, Kawhi and TP accounted for 75 of the Spurs' points, each one on very efficient shooting. Parker added 12 assists and LMA added 10 rebounds for double doubles for both of them.
The bench, unusually, was the group that gave up the lead in the first half, and by the end of the game, Mills and Ginobili were something like 4 for 15. Not great, but you can get away with it when the SL is clicking as well as it did last night.
Diaw was pulled early and never put back in the game, and I was glad it happened. His play of late has looked like he was asking to be benched, and I was glad that Pop pulled the plug.
Danny was Danny. Wildly inconsistent in the 'Is your head anywhere near this game?' category, with a combination of boneheaded missed lay-ups and thunder dunks off missed shots by other people. He was better on defense, especially late in the game, and it gives one hope for how he can play if he could just stay focused for around 30 minutes a game.
I agree that we won't get away with playing this sloppily against the best teams, but there were glimmers of hope here and there suggesting that we might.
At this point, though, overall, I would have to say that in order to beat the teams coming up in short order, they will have to contribute to our game plan by playing below their ability in order for us to beat them, or else we really have to clean up our act. If Diaw would decide to put in the effort it would help things immensely. West can't play center against these better teams without some help. Aldridge probably has to be on the court much more than he has been in order to keep a chance at rebounding or guarding the other teams' back up centers.
Enjoyed the win. Worried about us against the upcoming teams.

Thanks for doing this review.
I think Manu will eventually get his groove back, K.Mart hopefully helps.
The Diaw issue is alarming. He hasn't been scoring when we have needed him to. For example, during Manu's absence the guys who increased offensive production were Patty, Kyle and D.West in different games. When these didn't get it going Boris was nowhere to be found either. When TD got injured the guys increasing production were Lamarcus, Dwest and Kyle. Timmy being injured gave an opportunity for Lamarcus to finally take control as the main featured big and it was necessary, but again, Boris nowhere to be found.
Defensively is where he's really unsustainable bc without a true defensive center there to cover mistakes he has to be sharper. Pop has also chosen not to start him, preferring Dwest or Anderson and it is probably bc of defensive reasons. It's a concern.

That's the main point-during Manu's absense someone needed to be a playmaker off the bench and that's what Diaw does better than anyone. As Jeff van Gundy once said - Diaw is driving to the basket not to score but to pass. That's a real privilege to have such an unselfish player as Boris but I wish he would shoot more. We are fooling ourselves if we still count to see 2014 ball movement. It's totally different basketball style now.

That is true but if others don't have it going you can't stay that passive. Frankly Anderson and West have the same tendencies ( D.west does pass up shots and same as the other two is not afraid of risky passes, sometimes too risky). Unlike the other two he hasn't had a good game. It's seemed that at times the other two are trying and just miss shots or just had bad game. Diaw instead has seemed lazy.
