View Full Version : Lakers: I was wrong about their point guard. RSX called it.

Even the advanced stats are backing it up (He leads all Lakers guards in RPM :wow). Huertas is indeed, Nash-Lite, so much so that Byron is going to him in critical crunch time moments.
Is he the future?

Pretty amazing that a 40 year old is their best PG. Guy has been beasting. Averaging about 10 and 5 on 48% his last 5 games in limited minutes. He was great against GS, as well.

He's proven himself to be a Popovich type of player.

He's 32. No, he is not the future, but the dude has about 3-4 really good years left him due to his style of play. He should help next year when the Lakers have a completely unprotected pick to the Suns, so they will be in win mode next year, even though they shouldn't make the playoffs.

If they keep the pick this year, next year it is still top-3 protected to the Sixers, not the Suns. The next year is unprotected, but if they're able to keep it both this year and next year, they don't have to give up their first rounder to Orlando (Dwert trade) 2 years later.
tl;dr ---> they are fucked.

I thought it was the Suns for the Nash trade. Shit, I know the Lakers still owe a pick to the Suns as well. I guess the Lakers are hoping to get a team together via FA/Trades. Both times they did w/ Shaq and Gasol. They tried again w/ Howard and Nash and that completely blew up in their face.

Suns traded it to the sixers for some scrub last year IIRC ... Suns could have have had a great shot at Booker/Knight and two top 5 picks on the way this year ...
