View Full Version : Kawhi Leonard is not your average man with $94 million in the bank

Wow, he got so popular he's even making the sports news here in Australia.
==========================
KAWHI Leonard is as stingy on defence as he is with his $94 million — and he’s the best defender in the NBA.
The San Antonio forward has never chased stardom, but his super human performances for the Spurs in recent seasons, including the 2014 NBA finals MVP, has seen stardom chase him.
The 2015 defensive player of the season happily admits he still drives the same 19-year-old Chevrolet four-wheel drive he calls “Gas Guzzler” that he used as a teenager.
“It runs and it’s paid off,” he told si.com.
Then there is his endorsement deal with American restaurant chain Wingstop.
Over the Australian summer, Leonard lost a coupon book that allowed him free chicken wings at the diner — and he freaked out.
Fortunately, he was able to make contact with the chicken wing specialist and another coupon book was quickly shipped to once again give him the gift of free wings.
Yes. We are still talking about the same $94 million star.

Still unsure if he's a real person or a robot designed by Pop and RC in some lab, inspired by Duncan.

He doesn't have $94 million in the bank, and he likely won't even at the end of his current 5 year contract (assuming he doesn't get major endorsements from external sources). He just completed his rookie deal and is making $18.8 million this season, before taxes. After taxes are deducted, his net salary through this entire 5 year contract will be closer to $65 million. And it's very unlikely that he'll have anything close to that in the bank after all his expenditures.

If he was a robot, then he wouldn't miss nearly as many shots as he does, wouldn't miss a single free throw, and we could sign him for vet minimum deals every year and he wouldn't care because he's a robot whose sole task is to serve the Spurs.

But then everyone would know he's a robot.

And what would they do about it? I don't think it's against the CBA.

I love this tbh. Have to actually wonder what he would do with that much cash. After a certain point the money doesn't even mean much anymore when hes made that much. Your lifestyle ain't going to improve much past a certain amount. Just like LBJ with as much as hes made, what do you do with all of it? You can only buy so much stuff, 10 cars in the garage vs 50 isn't going to improve his happiness.

Yet another superficial analysis. We want precise numbers, not vaguish estimates.
